Islam Feruz - 15 year old striker from Celtic

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what is going on with Feruz?

The official site claims he's still on loan at Blackpool (for whom he played about a quarter of an hour of football, and they are hardly overflowing with quality options), but I found this article which claims he was sent back early, complete with a quote from manager Lee Clark. He is no longer on the Blackpool website and doesn't seem to have made any further appearances for our under-21s. What has he been doing for the past two months?

The whole season has been a mess for him.

Wasn't he going to go on loan to some random Russian side at the start of the season and then about a week later basically said "yeah, it's not for me".

Hasn't sounded good all this, he's at that make or break age now where he's either going to make that step up to being a top quality player or a distinctly average one.

He's behind Solanke at Chelsea now with regards to promise and I wouldn't be surprised to see him move on within the next two years.

I would say sooner than that. With first team strikers, possible new signing(s) in summer and Bamford, Brown and Solanke ALL ahead of him, he may as well move on.

He's not got the attitude to make it a the top level, that much was obvious with his twitter antics when he left Celtic.

He is beginning to strike me as one of those players we'll suddenly remember in five years time and ask 'whatever happened to him?', ultimately to discover that he's playing for Arbroath.

When he was 15 years old? You're really basing your opinion of his attitude because of something he wrote when he was a child?

It wasn't something he wrote.

Either way he was still a 15/16 year old, I find it difficult to hold anything against someone for something they did when they had barely reached puberty.

How has he progressed over the last few years? Not really been following him much.

In a word, No.

Was never that convinced by him and the more I saw of him, the less convinced I was. The lower divisions or Scotland appears to be his level.

A fate worse than death? What did he ever do to deserve such punishment?

There is a lot of animosity towards him at Celtic.

I fear Hibernian will be a little too close for comfort, particularly given his age, and the fact he's away from his parent club.

Very strange choice IMO.

I reckon Celtic fans and the club in general will be raging at this loan.

To be fair to the lad, if annoying Celtic fans is the only thing Islam does in a Chelsea shirt I'd say that's definitely a success!  :laugh2:

We gave him a new 3 and a half year contract a few weeks ago apparently. Apparently somebody who barely made the bench at Hibs deserved a contract but a club legend like JT is being thrown out like a leper.

The boys an absolute waster, we should cut ties with him ASAP.

He spoke about wanting to repay the faith Hibs and Alan Stubbs had shown in him in his press conference, went out the next day and got lifted for driving while banned and spent the night in the cells.

He couldn't get a look in at hibs because our other strikers are significantly better than he is, which when we're in the Championship of Scottish football says a lot about the guy.

He had so much talent and promise as a footballer, shame he's got a terrible attitude as well.
