Chelsea v Bayern Munich (CL Final) 19/05/12 KO 19:45 BST

I remember a Lee's fan at work claiming we'd bought it but not in the way that sad Gooner did, he actually thinks Roman paid someone off for us to win it. I just said to him watch the game and show me how? There's nothing controversial in there like a soft pen or dodgy free kicks. We won it through shear hard work that's all there is to it, fans who claim clubs buy success are just jealous so they come up with that excuse to try and discredit us.

We earned it all.... all that hard work.

Beating Bayern in their own friggin' stadium with half our first team missing and two injured centre halves...

Beating Barcelona, the number one team in the world, after trailing 2-0 at the Nou Camp and a man down too...

Overturning a 3-1 deficit against Napoli...

No one earned it more.

not sure if this video has been posted anywhere else on this messageboard, but I this is Frank Lampard the other day w/ the New York City Blues & he is recalling the events of May 19, 2012. Checkout, but be careful because you eyes might get wet.

Mods never close this thread, because it reminds us that the Underdog always have a chance to do the amazing!!!

Is that Mario Melchiot in the background ? i haven't seen him in years.

Take 10 cups of coffee and a space cake, follow this by turning slowly in a cement mixer for 90 minutes. Effects should be pretty similar. A mixture of nerves, paranoia and anxiety.

It was such a weird game for me I wasn't nervous at all throughout the game, when Muller scored I thought ah knew wouldn't win and then we equalised suddenly I felt a huge rush of energy. The game itself and extra time (bar the penalty) are a complete blur. The penalties them self really stick on the mind, I knew Mata would miss but when Olic stepped up I knew Cech would save it. I wasn't expecting Schweinstiger to miss though and when Drogba stepped up I just said please please and when he scored I couldn't believe it. I remember my brother phoned me up after and I just burst into tears with joy.

Sounds amazing mate. I was on a plane journey back to London from St. Louis at the time. I missed it live. I also missed the FA Cup final on the way out here. Maybe me missing finals is a good thing, we won the Carling cup and I couldn't get the coverage over here on TV!

Although I missed final I made it home in time for the parade, went straight from Heathrow, jetlagged and with my luggage in tow. Amazing memory!

It was only at home lol thing is I did the exact opposite to what I did on the 2008 Final. I watched that one on Sky, watched this one on ITV, watched that one with friends, watched this one alone, sat on the smaller settee watching the 2008 one and watched this one on the floor. Weird how ai got all superstitious.

Haha so how did you find out we'd won and when you did find out how did you react?

I had Chelsea keep up with the game for me. I called in when I landed in Chicago (I think it was Chicago) for an update. It was a great moment but it was sad to not really be able to share it with my blue brothers and sisters. I felt like the kid that misses the party all the other kids at school get invited to. Bet you lot went nuts! I messaged my mate Dave and we met at Acton Town when I got in, the parade more than made up for it in the end.

Yeah that's understandable but we won it didn't we?

I went crazy, funnily enough I had been staying off here and another football site I visited because I was convinced I was jinxing us lol but silky really looking back.

I was at a pub with my girlfriend (at the time). I remember when it kicked off, I was the only one really watching it. Crazy!

But from the last 10 minutes onwards, everyone was crowded in the TV section. Few other Chelsea fans and a bunch of Tottenham fans. When Muller scored, they cheered, but respectfully didn't rub it in.

When we equalised, however. I lost it. The goal, itself was a mess. I saw a bunch of players running away from the goal as Mata's delivery was a bit wide. I wasn't expecting anything from it. Out of nowhere, the ball just flew into the top corner as if I had done it myself, through sheer willpower and desperation.

Seeing Drogba running towards the crowd performing his signature celebration. I was thinking "That's Chelsea, that's our player. In the biggest club game of the year." I was filled with awe. The same when Lamps scored against United.

I shouted "YES!" It wasn't a long cheer. It was relief and exhilaration.

I can only remember two key moments of ET. The penalty and Bayern's chance where Olic or van Buyten squared it instead of shooting.

The penalties, I hadn't been such a wreck since the Moscow penalties. I had no confidence in Mata. He had only scored 1/3 or 4 penalties for us.

To be honest, I had little confidence in Luiz also. Looking back to the one he missed against Genk.

Lampard was always gonna bury his.

Ashley Cole, I had no idea what to expect.

Drogba, I had no doubt.

I wish I could relive this night

Well, the bit where Drogba's penalty went in maybe, not the rest of it thanks, i was a wreck by the end of this game  I was the same at the end of the Napoli and Barcelona game too.

Another night I remember in this run was I went to physio with my wife when we were 2-0 down to Barca although I didn't know it, anyway it was in a hotel and I heard a huge cheer so I ran up the stairs to the bar. It was when Ramires had scored, must say I wish I'd stayed and watched the rest of it there was so great to see so many cheering on Chelsea and this was in Leeds.

That's what made it even better the tension

Well someone just earned themselves a place on my 2015 SE Oscars list!

And I agree with most of this, although I was actually fairly confident that Cole would put his away.  Luiz's run-up had me in a nervous mess although very good on him, possibly the best of the lot.
