I honestly think in the recent history of our club we have never needed a player more urgently than we need a new centre forward. Because if this continues its just going to cost us more points and derail our season even further.

And even worse, it will run into next season with possibly no cl qualification, not ideal timing as the FFP ruling starts to kick in.

We need a top class striker, JT's return, and if Sturridge goes to binfield we need to recall Lukaku.

Were also going to have to rotate Mata more, he is not like Frank used to be where you could rely on him every game to put in a shift, he needs to be used carefully, when he's having a bad game we need to notice it quickly and replace him, he's important to the team, and when the team plays well it's usually because he is playing well.

A picture tells a million words.

One good side to this is Nancy boy will be gone come January.

Now don't get me wrong, I thought we played SH1T but it just seems if it gets tough 9.9/10 times nancy boy goes hiding. If I was into conspiracies I would almost suggest nancy boy is missing these opportunities on purpose. I mean do we practice knocking the ball back to cech rather then past cech in practice, surely missing the keeper should be instinctive by now but its almost like its instinctive to pass it to the keeper. I just don't f**king get it. Some of these opportunities we are getting would be put away by most pub teams. Cahill was a little unlucky but at the same time hit it in the keepers direction and there is always that chance.

I have lost faith in Torres but it doesn't get much more pathetic than this post. Calling him names is pretty sad

Boo hoo, poor Torres being called names on a footballing forum, what has the World come to - it's really the end of the World as the Mayans Predicted.

Seriously though, Torres brought this onto himself - he demanded the spotlight and clarification after the CL Final, he got our board to agree to build a team around him this season with no Drogba/Kalou/Anelka/Lukaku to steal his thunder. His only opponent for the striker position was injured and used only once in fourteen games he was available for in his place and only because Torres was banned for that game.

The board are going to take 100% of the blame because they agreed with this idiotic plan to put out a team based around a striker who just 6 months ago was experiencing a 24 hour goal drought; who couldn't do anything worthwhile when Drogba was away on International duty and was replaced by a 34 year old once again for our biggest games.  As I've said previously they should all be sacked for going a long with this plan, and sacking a manager and bringing in another just in the wild hope that he turns around this Torres fiasco.

And the haters strike again!

None of us know when this picture was taken or what was being said, but as usual those with an agenda against Torres have decided that the rest of the team are against him.

For all we know the other players could be commiserating with Torres, saying what a good save the keeper made in the 1 on 1 and that he was only just offside for the headed goal!

But keep up with the hate guys, I know its all that keeps some of you going!

While on the subject, 80% of the team played badly on Sunday, but it must be Torres fault we lost, I mean he cost £50m and gets paid £175k per week, every defeat has to be down to him right?

That did make me smile Davey!

I'd just rather people had some real perspective on the player and didn't just resort to slagging him off personally!

I think the majority of people who follow Chelsea know he's not the player we thought nor will he ever be that player, for me though we don't need to insult him etc etc, as soon as we buy another striker I expect he'll leave anyway!

Funny how all the people calling for us to support Torres have disappeared under their rocks again

In stark contrast to you, who is of course the first on here to give praise on the rare occasions he has a good game/scores.

I've not dissapeared.

I praise him when he does well and I don't when he plays badly.

The whole teams played shockingly bad at the weekend so I fail to see why I'd rant on this page for 1 player when another 8 or 9 deserve the same amount of stick.

I know what you're trying to say SP but Sunday is probably a bad example. With that miss at the end the defeat was down to him.

I fully agree with what Bjd posted at the top of the page:

"I honestly think in the recent history of our club we have never needed a player more urgently than we need a new centre forward. Because if this continues its just going to cost us more points and derail our season even further".

The January transfer window can't come quick enough.

We didnt deserve anything other than a loss, He missed a sitter but it would not have won us the game...we were second best for almost all of the second half bar a 10 minute spell at the end.

He has as much blame as Mata, Hazard, Moses, Rambo, Cahill (Also missed a sitter) ect who also played poor games.

It's never down to just one player losing you a game, it's a team effort.

We have'nt - Unfortunatly many "supporters" have.

You're really going to put supporters in quotes when referring to Arq? Seriously?

Apparently being a supporter entails being serious 100% of the time and never uttering a bad word about any player no matter what.

I've had to watch Torres sink my club for years with his bloated wages, incompetent performances and fragile ego. I, and any other Chelsea supporter, am entitled to vent my frustration and it doesn't make any less of a supporter. Torres will get my support on match days, as will anybody that suits up for us, but beyond that he has lost all benefit of the doubt and I will not look on him fondly or hold back on my criticism of him, which I assure you he's earned ten thousand times over.

By the same token, how many times have Man U been outplayed, only to draw or win the match because of Van Persie coming through at the end? We may not have "deserved" to win, but Torres still deserves a ton of blame for his incompetent performance. When you get paid like he does, then it's expected that you'll come through and rescue results even when the rest of the team isn't up to snuff.

Yes I agree and he doesnt offer this but in terms of this game no one offered this, Mata, Hazard ect were all very poor.

Only Luiz and maybe Lampard got pass marks with the rest showing zero effort to win that game.

That is not down to one player, there is issues in the squad and we have heard snippets of it. It's not a united dressing room and Torres is just 1 little peice of the problem.

He aint VP and he aint been since more than 2 years ago, he isn't a lethal striker.

It's our own fault for throwing money about like idiots.

It's our own fault for throwing money about like idiots.

No it's the boards fault for giving Torres free reign over the club and basing our entire season around a player who is past his best, instead of admitting their mistake like we did with Sheva; Veron; etc.

If Torres was for example rested for some of our easier games which top teams usually do with their "star" players and we had Lukaku or Sturridge up top against the likes of Genk; Leicester City; QPR; Nords; Wolves; Monterrey etc his tally would be an absolute joke. The only reason he was played in such games is to inflate his tally so he gains some confidence, except it doesn't work - why because he is has not been a top striker in the last 3 years.

It's frankly pathetic that I'm expected to be happy with the current situation. What's even more pathetic that after a summer in which Torres was making waves about his role demanding to  be an automatic starter in the club - you feel I have no foundation to blame him after he is failing to do his job, because other players are also struggling. Except for the fact that Hazard; Mikel; Mata; Oscar etc aren't the ones that have made PUBLIC demands about zero competition for their spots, and aren't played EVERY GAME they are available, all have been rested in certain matches.

Exactly RARE occasions against poor opposition! I have seen it too many times and no longer get excited when he scores or he plays well because I know a week later he will be back to his old ways. I don't beat around the bush, drogba wouldn't get as much praise if he scored against nords or wolves, he got praise for turning up in the big games and not just being content with picking up ridiculous wages

Hazard was excellent first-half. Mata is excellent every week. They would also be helped enormously by a centre-forward that actually moved. Please stop bringing other players into it, and that's an order.

Who showed zero effort on Sunday? Name names. That's another order.

We have one player and only one player that singularly fails to do his job.

Do you know what the job of a centre-forward entails? He's there because he's meant to be a goal threat. Not against Genk, Nordsjaelland, QPR or Leicester. Do you think it is a coincidence he only excels in these games? He scored and assisted againt Monterrey? Really? It's his job to do that against the best defences in the big games when it matters.

Every week on MOTD I see centre-forwards putting on great displays, for Villa, Everton, Liverpool, Utd. For City, Sunderland, Tottenham, Norwich. No Mazacar in sight and yet they're still producing. Please stop bringing other players into it.

I repeat. That's an order.

Despite all the "that's an order" rubbish (are you drunk or just a moron?), Davey Baby has a point.

Did you see Benteke against Liverpool? He tore their defence apart like it wasn't even there. Torres is no where near as competent at the moment. Apart from against weak opposition.

I don't think many people get 'excited' and declare he is back when he scores the odd goal to be honest, most people are well aware of his lack of consistency by now and purely give credit when credit is due based on a fair assesment of the given match- something you are unable to do.

Many, Many times.

Let's not forget a certain night in Munich where we did not deserve to win through after those first 90 minutes only for Drogba to pop up at the end and save our bacon.

Great forwards change games.

What does he deserve credit for? There have been very few occasions where he has deserved credit. I don't get credit for doing my job right which is something Torres struggles to do

I said give credit when credit is due.

Credit would be due when he has played well, the same for any other player, it is not rocket science.

An analogy with your job is rather stupid as you are not a proffesional footballer so we are comparing apples with pears but if you insist on nit-picking then I will play along:

Yes, you would be given credit for doing your job if, for example, a group of people were reviewing your capability after you were assigned a task and subsequently completed it well.

In this case, overall, Torres has not done his job well as most (myself included) would happily admit, my point was that I will give credit when credit is due, i.e. on the rare occasions he plays well, you on the other hand will not.

I can't believe I actually had to just explain that in minute detail for you.
