purely a roation ( stupid as it is) policy he played tonight, did set up 1 goal ( which was ingored by most), should have been taken off. What it comes down to is the incompetence of FSW, when you are leading, you either put on fresh leg to cover player, put more focus on defence, reinforce the midfield, or add an another attacker to kill off the game. He did f* all and we keep debating about how useless Torres is until the cow walks home.

How many has Ba got for Chelsea since he signed? I agree he's in and out of the team and not able to properly settle but i also feel the style we play requires the most mobile of strikers and we haven't got one. Torres is good when the ball is played in behind which we dont do enough of. Holds it up okay (Ba way better at this) but Torres takes longer than a ship to turn slows everything down...

I'm still not 100% sure we will sell him but i think we should take whatever offer is given to us. I think we will get offered something like £12-£15 million for him from someone.

Would say I'm baffled by the reaction to his performance tonight but I'm not as we have been here about 40 times before. Anyone who knows anything about playing in big games as a lone striker will tell you he did a good job for 65-70 minutes tonight and contributed to a good team performance but people who don't will tell you he was useless and contributed nothing.

 

The last 20 minutes he tired badly and was dreadful but that's why there is a manager on the sideline who should be seeing this and replacing him with some fresh legs who would of contributed far more in those last 20 minutes than we actually got. The last 20 minutes will stick in peoples mind the most which is a shame.

I'm sure as hell we will not sell the man, yes once upon a time he threw his toys out the pram about being second fiddle to Drogs but I think as time has progressed he now realises he is not anywhere near the level that enabled him to request being top boy at a club like this and in his old age of 29 with 3 years remaining he'd be stupid to move on really!

 

I think we will buy a next level striker in the summer then imagine - 'next level striker', ba, lukaku, torres

No doubt the usual clowns will place all the blame onto Torres for tonights result, I'm afraid to say that you couldn't be more wrong, the blame lies firmly on fatties shoulders for this 1!

Name me four things, just four, shouldn't be too hard he played the full 94 minutes, that he did well through the middle. Not out wide, through the middle, the middle where you want a centre-forward to be. To like, score goals. Connvert chances. Be a nuisance.

Adebeyor was a beast tonight. And us ? We had the best winger we have ever seen.

i think we will sign 2 world class strikers this summer

I'm thinking lewandowski/falcao and then rooney/neymar provided we finish top 4

I think everyone has realised by now he isn't the type of player we need leading the line on his own. I think he would be good with another striker with him in a front 2.

You know nothing muppet. What the f**k did he do as centre-forward. Through the middle, not out wide, through the middle where a centre-forward is supposed to be. List it. Give me a list. Name the goal scoring opportunities he had.

 

Are you happy he did the bizzo out wide while Adebeyor showed you what a real centre-forward should do through the middle and all across the line?

 

Perhaps you are happy he is good out wide. Fair dos. Well who would you leave out for him? Hazard? Oscar? Moses?

I thought adebayor was very good tonight. But apart from the goal which was a bit special I'd say most of his best work came from out wide as well. It's called running the channels.

I've defended Torres a lot on this forum but i cant anymore

 

sure he has a few nice touches and finishes in Europa league/carling cup/ dead rubber champions league matches - simply not good enough

i think we made an agreement on the announcements that we would treat our fellow shed-enders with a bit more respect. if you disagree with someone its fair enough but calling someone a 'muppet' for having a differing opinion is a bit weak as is telling someone to 'pipe down' .. this is a forum

No do it you tit. Take your "I play up front" knowledge and list the things Torres did of value through the centre. Give us the benefit of your Sunday League Div 6 wisdom.. List the times he had the centre-halves in trouble. The chances on goal. The times he worked the goal-keeper.
