Please tell me that's a joke? When was his last goal in the Prem, what date? How many minutes has he played since?

I'd like to know because, the same as you, I'm baffled as to how people can say he's decent.

A striker that never, ever looks like scoring? Decent?

Is this the longest current draught of any striker in the league, in terms of minutes?

When I say the league, I mean the whole league, including the Conference.

I bet you it is.

17 league games ago was 2012. We're in the middle of May.

If he's decent, as some of you say, here's my question ..

Why doesn't he just bang in a goal .. ?

yep, 23rd of december, against aston villa (8-0). that was his last goal in the prem. i think hes now at about 24 hours of premiership football without a goal

since then hes scored against steaua, rubin and basel

i dont know whether to cry or laugh

Let's not forget Ba scored two crackers against the best two teams in the country in the FA Cup, whereas Torres only scores against teams from weak European leagues.

Sticking to the Prem, how many starts do they both have since Ba arrived?

I'd also be interested in minutes in the Prem since Ba arrived, since it seems Ba gets subbed far more than Torres.

This is what i've noticed. When Torres starts, he gets the full 90. Usually Ba comes on and either plays with Torres or doesn't come on at all. When Ba starts, Torres is on within the 60th minute and Ba usually comes off to make way for him.

I'd bet anything that Ba starts on Saturday and Torres is on by the 65th minute.

To be fair to the FSW there was a subtle change in the formation last night. First half it was:

...............................Cech

Dave.............Cahill.......Ivan...................Cole

...................Ramires.......Luiz

Oscar....................Mata.....................Hazard

Torres..............big gap all along this bit.........

2nd half he changed it to:

...............................Cech

Dave.............Cahill.......Ivan...................Cole

...................Ramires.......Luiz

Oscar....................Mata.......................Hazard

.............big gap all along this bit..........Torres

3 wingers. No centre-forwards. That is why the FSW is a tactical genius.

worth watching Frank's 2nd goal again today. In the build up, and especially in the final phase, contrast Frank's instinct and movement with Torres'. Frank moves towards the ball and the goal. Torres moves away from it.

It sums up why one seems to score for fun, and why the other would struggle to score in a brothel.

So is 'groundhog day' Wednesday then. A big European final. He felt he didn't contribute much to the CL win. Well his goals have been key in this competition run so he may be able to say otherwise this time.

Under normal circumstances I would give him the benefit of the doubt and say he saw Lampard running into that space and decided to go back post in case it was missed by everyone else.

We all know that's bollocks though, his movements are truly baffling at times.

True. But that said, he still looked better than Ba yesterday who, as I said in the match thread, for the large part, looked like Bambi on Ice - he fell over so many times!

Ba has been terrible the last few games. He looks uninterested

Meanwhile Sturridge scores a hat-trick for Liverpool...

Good.

We have CL football and another European final and they are scraping to get as close to Everton as possible.

We shouldn't have sold Danny but we did and we just need to live with it, come next season we will have a better striker and a far far better team and manager than Scumpool

When watching the replay my girlfriend (Not a huge football fan mind you) asked me why Torres never did that :laugh2:

Doesnt matter, at the end of the day neither Torres or Ba are good enough for a club like us.

We need to act quickly and go for a world class striker but im fearing the ship for Cavani, Falcao and Lewandowski has sailed, we might have to settle for Wayne Rooney this summer with Lukaku back as well.

well, tbh, i wont be too distressed if we dont get a big name striker

then we'll hopefully see lukaku get more time, and he appears to be chelsea through and through.

and maybe we invest in a great DM, or a CB.

no team has elite players at every position. if that position ends up being striker at chelsea, then so be it. wont be the end of the world

Ba isn't good enough to be our no 1 and Torres is barely good enough to be a 3rd choice.

In reality we need Lukaku back and a top striker or else we need 2 strikers in the summer.

Saw that yesterday thought I was nuts till I saw it on MOTD again, happened twice when he was on.

I truly hope Torres goes out with a bang on Wednesday night.

Just looking at Sturridge today making it six goals in his last four games and Torres's

pathetic Premiership return not only during that period but since the turn of the year you have to

say whoever made the decision to keep Fernando and unload Danny was completely incompetent.

Once again Liverpool have turned us over bigtime they are our curses for sure but now is the time

to look forward and onward even if Lukaku on loan would have been a better bet than this scouse imposter.

Jose is smart and this club will return to greatness without Benetiz, Beneyoun and Torres,

Lewandowski for me is the man we need and I am not sure if Jose will fancy Ba, so you have to think

Lukaku will play a major part next season with Shurrle.
