I don't understand why, when Torres starts, he gets the full 90 and Ba often doesn't even make it onto the field, but when Ba starts, Torres is on by the 60th minute. I'd bet fifty quid that Rafa will start Ba on Saturday and Torres will be on by the 65th minute mark.

Sell him, please dear god sell him. He is absolutely sh*te, cut our losses and get shot. I can't describe how much I hate him as a player, he's horrendous to watch and completely ineffective. Also, before anyone says it his pass was meant for Oscar not Ramires... Who was also sh*te.

I actually cannot believe some of you guys wanted Torres to start.

How any of you think Torres is a footballer let alone a striker is beyond me. Every now and then tonight i thought he was trying hard but ultimately he's fukin hopeless.

I know there were other players that weren't good tonight but this is the Torres thread.

It wasn't Torres fault we lost (although he didn't help), but he had a good game tonight by his standards which shows how far away he is from being good enough for any premiership side especially one looking for honours.

Nah, i think everyone knows that Benitez messed this up.

The thing with Torres, is that it has now got to the stage where I don't even expect him to score anymore.

 

So it's like trying to win football matches with a false number 9.

He just looks like someone playing with autopilot on. Should be dispatched in the summer if we have any sense.

Credit where it is due I thought he worked his socks off tonight and had our final pass been better he would have scored.

Still think he needs to leave Chelsea and go back to Spain mind.

I'll give him credit he worked hard tonight. Knackered last 15 mins and Ba should have come on.

He was bad tonight, set up the goal but other than that did nothing

At striker position is where we really need to invest the increase in money the EPL TV rights are going to bring in next season. Torres works hard sometimes but it's just not happening for him at Chelsea and I don't think it ever will, plus his wages a very high and a big drain for what we are getting in return. Torres & £20m for Falcao or Cavani would be a great deal for us.

 

Ba IMO is just meh. He's mediocre. Scored a few goals but never looked top class or that he belongs at a club as big as Chelsea. Has quite a few times embarrassingly missed when he should have scored. I never wanted us to sign him.

 

Lukaku: great young player with bags of potential for the future and is developing nicely at West Brom. But is nowhere near ready to be the main striker for Chelsea. There is no pressure at WBA, but Chelsea FC is a top club fighting for the games top honours Lukaku is not where he needs to be yet.

The thing that typifies Torres at Chelsea - Mata battling for the ball with Lloris, Spurs clear the ball and while they do we witness our striker strolling into the box from the right wing.

He worked hard for the team but faded badly in the last 20 mins and started losing the ball. He's not a goal threat and I don't even consider him a striker anymore.

At Newcastle he was playing all the time, here he is in one week out the next. He's needed time to settle into a new club, Benitez is making that as hard as possible. At least Ba takes shots though, we get at least 3 decent efforts out of Ba a game, we get 0 or 1 out of Torres.

No but the big difference is Torres does this every game. At least with Ba he is a threat and takes a few shots.
