well for one thing at Chelsea he could probably understand what his team mates were saying to him after years in Scouseland; he was in London; he was getting paid a fortune; the supporters stuck with him regardless and gave him every chance; he got to work with the greatest manager of the modern era - Mourinho

I'm a scouser but I will give you that. Our accent goes through ME so goodness knows how it sounds to other people. Still rather have it than a Brummie or manc one though.

Got to say, I loved Torres subtle mug off of Liverpoo' in an interview the other day.

"I want to thank my two English clubs, Liverpool for bringing me to the Premier League and Chelsea for the trophies I won."

I was in Liverpool at a wedding the weekend and I found the people friendly even dough someone robbed my Ben Sherman jacket lol. The accent is terrible with a group of scousers but one on one it ain't to bad

Sorry that happened to you. It's pretty typical for that to happen to a visitor and it unfortunately tars all of us scousers with the same brush. There are plenty of us what aren't dirty robbing b**tards, believe me.

How come you support Chelsea been from Liverpool?

I'm only asking btw I'm born and raised in Leeds myself.

He's still very quick over 30-40m so I imagine that's the tests Inzaghi referred to, the nature of his injuries is that his acceleration is shot and it was never properly rehabilitated while he was at Liverpool.

Also it's a thinly-veiled attempt to justify his signing to the fans and try and inject some confidence into Torres.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Torres regained his pace and form at Milan though, they have the best sports medicine and performance set-up in the world, and I don't doubt they are capable of rehabilitating him.  It's unlikely to happen this season, however, as that kind of physical training needs to be done in pre-season or off-season, it's simply too intense a program to be done in-season.
