September 28, 201411 yr Yeah he's had a few silly challenges and misplaced passes. It doesn't help that he's part of a poor midfield team that doesn't give him the ball in great positions.
September 28, 201411 yr It's his first PL appearance though I believe, so he'll learn fairly quickly, or at least he'll need to if he wants to play at this level.

September 28, 201411 yr One match can't describe him. He still need experience and he will reach them by making mistakes, one game doesn't make him bad. Give this boy a chance!
September 30, 201411 yr Obviously it's still early days yet, but it has occurred to me before that the screamer he scored against Leicester may well end up being the highlight of his career. I certainly hope that isn't the case...
September 30, 201411 yr He just seems to have stalled a bit sadly like Josh a few poor loan spells and he hasn't really improved, hopefully he can get a lot more game time this season and prove me wrong!
October 4, 201411 yr Obviously did not impress his manager either. Not even on the bench today. I don't think he's going to make it here now. He hasn't progressed at all since his Watford loan, and watching him recently he's not up to the standard of the PL at all, let alone Chelsea.
October 5, 201411 yr He's injured. Throat injury in the u21s, that why he wasn't called up for the internationals either.
October 6, 201411 yr Yep we've f**ked him. After that Watford loan he had momentum and needed to carry on but we messed him around with the late loan to a Forest side who didn't suit him at all and now he's wasting his time at Burnley. He should've been part of the squad last season instead of Mikel in my opinion but he's wasted too much time in these key years and he'll probably be overtaken by Ake and Loftus-Cheek in due course.
October 6, 201411 yr Funny how Ake hasn't been on loan once and is much closer to the team than those who have been out on loan.
October 7, 201411 yr Funny how Ake hasn't been on loan once and is much closer to the team than those who have been out on loan. I don't think the better prospects should go on loan. I think they will have a better chance of progressing to the first team, if they train in world class facilities, with world class players and coaching. The loan system has proved well for making the club money, but we are still struggling to help players maximise their potential. Hopefully if Mourinho sticks around a while, the added stability will mean we can trust the youth players more.

I think people are too quick to say "loan them out, let them develop" when it some cases that actually does more harm than good. Also loaning out youngsters that have already played for the team and done well such as Josh makes no sense to me at all, it's one step forward and two steps back. Then people are surprised when they don't do well out on loan, I'm fully expecting Kalas to end up likes this as well and then people will be all "Well, he can't have been that good anyway". How do players become good? That's the question. Ibrahimovic grew up on the docks and it didn't hold him back. South American players mostly grew up poor. It's a difficult question. Good Post. Of course it will never be one rule suits all. Loans will work for some but not for others. If you are a youngster and get sent out to 3,4 or 5 different clubs, I'm sorry but that just can't do you any good or be any good for your development, never mind your confidence. It can be such a very fine line in making it or being yet another of the nearly men. We've all seen some fantastic prospects who for whatever reason, don't fulfill that potential and we have a whole load of prospects on our books now both out on loaned and playing for the academy. Surely ONE of these has to make it? My money would be on either Christensen or Boga but then again I was once certain it was going to be Josh!!
October 19, 201411 yr He played against West Ham, he had like 10 minutes. Did someone watch him and can tell few words about him? I can't find a good site to watch the game.
October 19, 201411 yr He played against West Ham, he had like 10 minutes. Did someone watch him and can tell few words about him? I can't find a good site to watch the game. The Burnley fans on this forum: http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2110608856&page=1, seem to like what he did yesterday. They all called for him to come on earlier and said that his performance was assured and tidy. One or two even want him to start next week so hopefully Nat can keep getting minutes and keep progressing.
October 24, 201411 yr Hopefully he's going to make his full debut against Everton. He had an injury two past weeks, but now it's confirmed, he's fit. 90% he's going to start at the eleven against Everton.
October 27, 201411 yr What a great loan this is working out to be. I hope we have a recall in January.
October 27, 201411 yr Our domestic loans usually turn out to be sh*t. Perhaps our young players simply aren;t as good as we think they are, if they can't get games for teams at the bottom of the league. Bamford is the only one in recent memory who has actually done well at another English culb. Hopefully he'll get a PL loan soon and continue.
November 1, 201411 yr He had 10 minutes today. He couldn't really affect, he actually could've more time because Arsenal were in lead already in 72 minutes, but I don't know what's wrong with their manager.
November 19, 201411 yr Got injured against France in internationals. Any news how long is it? Last I heard about 8 1/2 inches. Edited November 19, 201411 yr by Nibs
