June 8, 201313 yr And for those advocating for Ba to be sold, what makes you think Torres would score more goals than him, if both of them were to stay and get the same amount of minutes? Torres is done. 2 and half years and still the same story.

Torres is done. 2 and half years and still the same story. For me, it's that Ba would be easier to offload than Torres and that I would prefer Lukaku to return over Ba starting.

June 8, 201313 yr Ba has only been at Chelsea 5 months. Give him a break. People really want to sell him? Give him a chance at least
June 8, 201313 yr If I was Torres I'd move personally but he seems happy to stay so I think he'll be around next season, plus I think he's more useful than Ba, not to mention nobody seems to be in for him. If we can't sell Ba then we should look into loaning him out.
June 8, 201313 yr Ba has only been at Chelsea 5 months. Give him a break. People really want to sell him? Give him a chance at least He just feels like a stop gap, we were selling Sturridge and Lukaku wanted to stay at WBA so we got Ba because his low release clause fee meant we could secure a deal quickly. He has been pretty poor since he signed and now the season is over I want Lukaku back and for Ba's presence not to block his progress...
June 8, 201313 yr So glad the Fridge is staying with us! Hopefully JM can turn him into the new Drogba sooner rather than later. Got a really good feeling about this!
June 9, 201313 yr For me, if possible, leave them all, and try to give each of them equal, however making Lukaku 1st choice. Personally, offload Torres by all available means, being second choice, he'd have another low on confidence and would be pretty useless once again. He may bitch to the media again demanding more love and affectionate.

He was a stop gap im pretty sure the only reason we bought him was because he was £8M.
June 9, 201313 yr Ba has only been at Chelsea 5 months. Give him a break. People really want to sell him? Give him a chance at least Ba reminds me of Emerson Thome, in the sense that he was cheap, decent, had premier league experience and would do the job until we brought in who we really wanted. Now while most of us would sooner see Torres depart the realist in me sees that nobody Torres would like to play for would match his salary with us and those that would match his salary he would not want to join, for example Russian sides. Ba on the other hand is still seen as a guy who would not cost the earth in fee or salary and sides would want to buy, and I would sooner he goes than have one more guy in Lukaku's way. Still though if we do not sign a striker this summer then adding Lukaku gives us the right amount of forwards and there would be no need to sell anybody.
June 9, 201313 yr I think we should keep Torres. He has improved a lot and scored 23 goals last season, and he's worked hard and provided many many assists and contributed positively. I feel that under Jose he will excel... he's that kind of player that needs the boost in confidence that JM instils in all his players.

June 10, 201313 yr It'll be interesting to see what happens with our strikers. If all the rumours are to be believed we'll have Cavani, Torres, Ba, Lukaku, Jovetic, Hulk and Schurlle all on our books! I'm glad that Romelu is staying but only if he can get some game time out of it.

June 20, 201313 yr http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2344996/Romelu-Lukaku-pledges-train-harder-man.html Come on José, let's give this fella a real proper chance! Romelu Lukaku has pledged to train harder than ever ahead of the new season and become 'as deadly as the great masters of the game'. The Chelsea striker, who scored 17 Premier League goals on loan at West Bromwich Albion last season, is hoping to stay at Stamford Bridge and work with Jose Mourinho. West Ham are interested in procuring the hitman on a loan deal but Mourinho mentioned in his first press conference as Chelsea boss that he was likely to retain Lukaku. Pledge: Romelu Lukaku is determined to play like a man, not a boy Lukaku posted this picture of him relaxing on a sofa with the words: 'My last night of being lazy like this... 'From 2morrow on my pre-season upcoming season will start. I will train every single part of my body to be twice as good as last year. 'Stronger, faster, bring more quality into my game just to be as deadly as the great masters of the game. Busman's holiday: Lukaku playing football during his summer break 'It will be hard but when you work hard you play hard. Season 13-14 is the season when I stop playing like a boy and will play as a MAN!! #ambition.' The words will be welcomed by Chelsea fans who are still waiting for a striker to take up Didier Drogba's mantle at the club. Lukaku idolised the Ivory Coast forward but says he does not want to be compared to his hero, but instead judged on his own merits. June 20, 201313 yr If he becomes any stronger Nike are going to have to start producing more durable balls.
June 20, 201313 yr Lukaku only ever seems to open his mouth to talk about how he wants to improve himself and his game. I love that about him. Going to make a prediction right here. First game against Hull at home, we bring down the roof cheering Mourinho... Mourinho starts Lukaku... he scores within 5 minutes. Stamford Bridge implodes. That would be incredible. Better yet it comes at the end of a jaw dropping through ball from KdB.
