Lukaku to Everton

I'm not sure Oscar will be dropped. In fact I believe he's exactly the type of player José loves. Exceptional footballing intelligence, great movement and vision, disciplined, tracks back and not afraid to get stuck in. Oscar and Mata will just be starting the trainings with José, when he gets a closer look at them I bet he'll feel less need for Rooney.

I love Oscar too, but I cannot see Jose not promoting Rooney as his main link up man, that after all is his problem at United.

Oscar for De Bruyne maybe ?

the way I think it should be is,

-------------------------------Cech------------------------------

Azpillicueta-------Luiz----------------Terry--------------Cole

---------------------Mikel---------------De Bruyne-------------

------------Mata------------Oscar----------------------Hazard-----

-------------------------------Lukaku----------------------------------

De Bruyne can fill in for Oscar, Ramires, Lampard and Van Ginkel for De Bruyne and Schurrle and Moses the other 2 wings. If we sign Rooney I think he'll rotate with Lukaku similar to Crespo and Drogba did. The only problem is I don't know if Jose is planning on De Bruyne playing deeper but I think it would be very effective, and I De Bruyne reminds me of Schweinsteiger in the middle. I would love De Rossi playing instead of Mikel but don't see it personally. The midfield looks fearsome though and can see us dominating games. A centre back may be a nice signing but Terry looks like he's becoming more confident, and the obvious problem in buying a centre back is the lack of quality with the only people I can think of is, Ranocchia Subotic Astori and Mangala. I think Sobotic is going to be very hard to get and think that Mangala is deemed to expensive. Would have personally loved for the Chiellini 'rumour' to have been true but it was laughable at best.

My preferred line up for start of season

........................ Cech ......................

Dave ............ Terry ..... Luiz ............. Cole

.....................,.., Ramires .......................

Hazard ....... Mata ....... De Bruyne

............,,,,,,,,,,,, Rooney .............,,,,,,,,,,,

.............,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Lukaku ............,..,,

With say Essien, Van Ginkel Lampard and Oscar on the bench there are plenty of options to conserve or attack with different options

To me that team is far too open and we'd struggle to keep goals out

------------------------------Cech------------------------------

Dave---------------Luiz----------------Ivanovic--------------Cole

---------------------Essien---------------Van Ginkel-------------

--------De Bruyne----------Mata----------------------Hazard-----

-------------------------------Lukaku----------------------------------

Although off topic if Rooney comes he will be played a lone striker just as any of our strikers. We have too many AM's and too much quality to drop any of them to accomodate Rooney to a position he's only getting used to.

maybe that team would be deployed if we are chasing a game, but you wouldbe lining up with ramires as a holding midfielder, with no licence to get forward which I think is crimnal.

I think we'd struggle with counter attacks big time with that formation, and our centre backs would be very exposed.

I don't think there's any way that we'd get Rooney and play him as anything other than a number 9 save for exceptional circumstances. He's a great number 9 but has had to play number 10 at Manure due to lack of good players. We also have better number 10s (Mata and Hazard, Oscar will be better soon too). If we get him, he'll excel as a lone striker - probably a perfect fit for our system tbh as he is technical enough to get involved in neat exchanges with our AMs, bulky enough to hold players off and likes to drop deep as a forward which would create space against packed defences.

Lukaku will become one of the best strikers in the world

3 reasons

1. Talent

No one can deny how talented this kid is, at 16 he was already first team in the Anderlecht team and scoring for fun, yeah his first touch could be better but Drogba never had an amazing first touch when he first came. Also Lukaku has something not many players have and that is power and pace. Hes almost impossible to knock off the ball but for such a big guy he is fast! Defenders wont be able to cope with him

2. Attitude

I dont think ive seen such a young player that is so mature and grounded. Hes a wonderkid and has been in the spotlight since he was 16. Yet hes never had any bad press about him, hes never been caught getting pissed or stuff like that. Even though he was going to have a career in football he still wanted to finish school and get his grades

3. Jose Mourinho

The best manager in the world, just look how he developed the likes of Lampard, Essien, Drogba, Terry, Carvahlo into some of the best players in the world. The same will happen to Lukaku

I cant wait for the next few years to see how Lukaku will develop for us

Jose's headache starts today with Torres,Mata,Oscar and Luiz all back in training.

I think there are many things that give Jose a headache but welcoming back some of his star players to training? He will be relishing the opportunity to work with them at last.

Every time he comes off the bench the stadium announcer should shout "Release The Krakken" in the style of a mmorpg game when they do the "MEGA KILL", "ULTRA KILL", etc...

we should hire liam neeson to say it

EDIT: just read he supports liverpool, he can f**k off

Okay so you guys who saw Lukaku play against Inter(missed the match, had to sleep) is he the main man for us? First touch?

Definitely looks the most likely to score regularly for his, his touch was okay linked up with the midfield well but the ball did bounce off him a few times. Unlucky not to score when he hit the post. I think he's improving all the time, and he will score alot for us this season.

Thanks for the view.

I have to agree that in league games he is probably our best choice for starting but If the club accepts this is our trio we are not winning the prem or even really compete to win it.

I think we can win the league with what we have. Drogba was the all conquering big match goalscorer in our first 2 prem wins.

If we can stay concentrated and organized for 90 mins week in week out, I believe we have the quality and the match winners in our squad to beat anyone.

If lukaku doesnt step up in the big games, we still have mata, hazard, ramires and lampard who have proven they can comr up big goals.

his generally hold up play to help bring the team into play and to gather yards is pretty poor. heavy first touch and strangely seems an awful judge of the flight of the ball

as a channel runner he can be very good though, and last night we played extremely quick 2-3 pass counter attacks which suited him quite nicely as he was often allowed a sprinting match with defenders, which is how he seems most effective

A huge weight on Lukaku's shoulders IMO. Torres is a huge star and scored in every possible occasion big or small and physically he still is at peak and yet we can't trust him to score. Okay Torres is a bad example and we've been over it for about 350 pages but I just can't believe we are about to enter another season with him, Ba and future superstar Lukaku. I'm 100% sure the as the board watched the games last season they made promises to themselves not to be in the same situation come this season...yet here we are month away from shut window and as we know the market is all but empty.

I have nothing against Lukaku's skill but my concern is his lack of experience. Winning something comes with experience...
