December 21, 201312 yr http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2013/12/21/5233222/chelsea-romelu-lukaku-loan Swansea were told that Lukaku wasn't going on loan.
December 22, 201312 yr First post here. Am I the only one that feels that Lukaku is at least partly responsible for our striker situation after asking to be loaned out when he heard of Eto'os arrival? What a silly thing to do. No wonder he said in an interview that Chelsea hadn't been in regular contact with him like last season. Hence the "phone call" celebration against Newcastle.
December 22, 201312 yr Am I the only one that feels that Lukaku is at least partly responsible for our striker situation after asking to be loaned out when he heard of Eto'os arrival? Hardly his fault if he was told he was going to be fourth choice and wouldn’t be playing regularly. It'd be ironic if Everton qualify for the Champions League at our expense. I don’t think that was the plan at all.
December 22, 201312 yr i remember Lukaku saying in the summer that he didn't care who we signed . ""If a player can improve us, why not? Samuel Eto'o, Wayne Rooney, I have heard everyone. I am not scared. Let them come."
December 22, 201312 yr barely a sniff today. didnt look a threat at all. its these games that are the reason he is better off out on loan, playing and learning, rather than sitting on the bench and playing the odd game here and there for us
December 22, 201312 yr Wow, you mean Lukaku isn't the greatest striker of all time yet?! The lad still has loads to learn, as I've said before, he isn't as good as he/a lot of you think he is.
December 22, 201312 yr barely a sniff today. didnt look a threat at all. its these games that are the reason he is better off out on loan, playing and learning, rather than sitting on the bench and playing the odd game here and there for us That's it, if he was with us he'd probably be relegated to the bench against Arsenal and have to endure 90 minutes watching Torres flounder like a fish out of water (probably, although of course I'd love it if Torres got a goal or two tomorrow).
December 22, 201312 yr Reckon most fans are being unfair to Lukaku; cast your mind back to Drogba's 1st season with us, his first touch was atrocious, kept diving, finishing was poor and never looked like a £20m+ signing. I can remember him being criticised in the media, but you know what Jose persisted with him and he came good. Do I think Lukaku would have done worse than any our 3 forwards? absolutely not. Do I think fans would have been moaning about the quality of play if he was starting for us and we were playing the way we are currently? No, because most fans know he is quality and he would only get better. A manager's confidence has an impact on a player's performance, just have a look at Barkley who was last season on loan at Leeds. Let's be honest, if Lukaku was a Jose signing he will have played him continuously till he comes good, not that I am blaming him. Let's not delude ourselves Lukaku won't return next season a finished forward, but we will never know if he will swim or sink if we don't play him.
December 22, 201312 yr Just in case anyone forgets 10 in 26 in 04/05 12 in 29 for Drogba in 05/06 in the league. Edited December 22, 201312 yr by pete
December 23, 201312 yr Why dont you all understand? Lukaku TOLD Chelsea he wanted to leave. He didnt want to play for us. Its no good saying he would have done better than our forwards this season because we will never know how he would have done. The kid needs to grow up or he will never make it at Chelsea.
December 23, 201312 yr f**k em. One thing I hope is that Lukaku comes back and Ross Barkley comes with him Edited December 23, 201312 yr by RickCFC
December 23, 201312 yr One of the main tasks for a lone striker is to hold up the ball. Lukaku completely failed to do that against Arsenal, as we have seen countless times before. His pace is hardly blistering either, he is large and comparing his speed to Torres in his prime is ridiculous. I would wager that Torres would out sprint him even now. He did do a good job pulling defenders out of position but Torres does this exceptionally well too. Torres has two bad games this season, every other game he has been brilliant, especially against Man City and Tottenham (two very important fixtures). Hazard has had 4/5 games where he might as well of not showed up, but no one is blaming our seasons problems on him. Some people are just so quick to shoot Nando down. But he hasn't scored. He has mustered a pathetic 15 goals in 95 league appearances for Chelsea FC. He is a striker who can barely buy a goal in the Premier League. Adebayor has scored as many league goals as him this season. I don't understand why people don't just realize we've got a lame horse on our hands and cut him loose. He is useless and his constant indulgence has driven prolific strikers like Sturridge and Lukaku out of the club while we bend over backwards to accommodate the waste of space.
December 23, 201312 yr How do you suggest "cutting him loose"? He has made it clear that he doesnt want to leave and who would buy him off us and pay the wages he is currently on?
December 23, 201312 yr Of course he doesn't want to leave, he's on 200 grand a week. He should be loaned out to get him and his weak psychology away from the squad and we'll have to make a contribution to his wages. It's better than having a number one striker who averages 1 in 7 in the Premier League. He is a busted flush who receives favourable treatment due to his transfer fee and wages. The sooner we can boot the elephant out of the room, the better for all concerned. Good riddance to utter rubbish.
December 23, 201312 yr Thats a great idea! Why didnt we all think of this? In all seriousness who would even want to loan him? He takes up squad space and doesnt offer enough. The only teams that may be interested i doubt he would want to go to. Face it we are stuck with him till his contract runs out.

The only teams that may be interested i doubt he would want to go to. Face it we are stuck with him till his contract runs out. We could have sold him at a loss after the CL Final, instead we build a side around him released Kalou/Drogba and failed to sign anyone else; loaned Lukaku and froze out Sturridge. Ideally if we were actually serious about winning titles after a season and a half we should have called it quits for Torres and let him go after he made the comments about not caring about the club when he wasn't playing. Right now no one would buy him - doesn't mean we should continue to play him or buy past it players to make him look good. We know what he did last season in the first 6 months when he was automatic first choice. People having a go at Lukaku for possibly asking for a loan, should talk with Jose he is the manager a 20 year old can't call shots. If Jose wanted him Lukaku would have been at the club sulking or becoming first choice Edited December 23, 201312 yr by Las7
December 23, 201312 yr f**k em. One thing I hope is that Lukaku comes back and Ross Barkley comes with him Pointless us signing Barkley unless he can play in Centre midfield.

The kid needs to grow up or he will never make it at Chelsea. ...that must be a joke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSN82MPTgIc (skip to 1:55) and yes, our grown up strikers are so much better... since Torres joined us, we payed him £ 3 million for each goal he made in the premiership (16 - 3 seasons), but maybe we'll have to give him the chance for another 2 seasons to prove himself, and sell that big young lad because we think his first touch might not be that good....
December 24, 201312 yr As a rival fan, I find it unreal that some of you are trying to justify Lukaku's omission from the squad because he supposedly wants to leave. He is much, much better than any of your strikers and with him up front you'd be comfortably in first place. Tbh it's a miracle that you are where you are in the table considering your on field performances and team selections. If you had a manager who was acting rationally you would be 10 points clear.

December 24, 201312 yr What's bullsh*t? Your squad isn't settled and is barely out of second gear, but is at the top of the table. If it were firing, say for instance with a clinical striker like Lukaku, it would be easily in first place. How can you not see that?
December 24, 201312 yr Not interested in ad hominem arguments. Lukaku is a phenomenal talent. Your team would be nearly unstoppable with him in the lineup. If you don't agree, explain why.
