November 30, 201312 yr Cause a 20 year old decides who goes on loan at CFC If Jose wanted him here and had plans for him - Lukaku would be at CFC That was also pointed out by the MOTD punters that time in September. I have to agree with you and them. Edited November 30, 201312 yr by Killbill
November 30, 201312 yr he is at thd level now where another loan would be pointless, (it nearly is this year). next season he needs to be given a chance and assurances should be made, or we will have another sturridge situation. I think his all round game is better and more consistent than ba, torres, or eto'o. Not to mention he scores alot of goals.
November 30, 201312 yr IMHO the club has totally messed up this situation. I agree w/ the ESPN FC's crew assessment on what Lulu would have brought to the club. As we seen from previous managers under Roman's Reign, there is a reluctance to play youth. To Coach under Roman, demands a win now philosophy. To play youth a club has to have patience. Hell I haven't seen patience at this club since Don Claudio was the gaffer & that was under the Bate's Regime. Not sure we will see this type of thinking under Jose's 2nd term. November 30, 201312 yr "On-loan forward Romelu Lukaku will seek a second season at Everton if Roberto Martinez's side claim Champions League football." "I think it's not a bad idea (to stay at Everton for a second season). If we play Champions League then I think so." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2516020/Romelu-Lukaku-stay-Everton-season-team-qualify-Champions-League.html Hmmm dosen't sound like he's exactly excited about the prospect of returning to Chelsea??? "I would like to be successful at Chelsea but I have to work and grow and be a better player and then at the end of the season see what is the best decision for my career." http://www.toffeeweb.com/season/13-14/news/26161.html
November 30, 201312 yr Hopefully after a good season at Everton and a good world cup he comes back with us and he can be our number one striker. The problem is that he should have been the number one this season, or at least 1b. What Lukaku is doing at Everton, he was doing last season at WBA. He might not be the type of player Jose wants, but that is why you have multiple striking options in the squad. Make no mistake if he doesn't get his chance at Chelsea, the big clubs will be bidding for his services.
December 1, 201312 yr OptaJoe ?@OptaJoe 30 Nov 117 - Romelu Lukaku has the best minutes per goal rate in Premier League history (minimum 20 goals). Prolific.
December 2, 201312 yr He's telling Lukaku to shut up and get on with it, I'm inclined to agree.Same here. Its not the first time Lukaku has thrown a dig at our club. He needs to shut up and just let his goal tally do the talking. I for one am glad we have a manager with the balls to put him in his place. If he doesnt like it then he can f**k off and we will get someone else. He is a good goal scorer but he isnt Messi or Ronaldo. He can be replaced.
December 3, 201312 yr Jose hits back.. "Maybe there is a new rule in football where when the season finishes every player is able to decide their own future"
December 4, 201312 yr Jose was right, again. If Lukaku is a bit pissed off, that's good, play with anger and score 20+ goal.
December 4, 201312 yr Every time he scores his price goes up a million....'Stay Calm Carry On Scoring'
December 4, 201312 yr I'd like to point out a couple of things. Lukaku does score regularly, which is great. He is, however, still quite raw when it comes to other parts of the game. I think he is still learning how to use his strength and size properly, he often struggles to hold up the ball, gives away possession countless times with poor passing and his decision making is far from perfect. I believe, if he continues to work hard and improve, Romelu will be a phenomenal striker in years to come. But he's better off at Everton now, where the pressure is off, mistakes aren't being scrutinized after every game and playing time is almost guaranteed. He also profits from having more space and less opposition to deal with on a regular basis, since every Chelsea striker, no matter who it is, nine times out of ten, has to find a way through a parked bus of the defending team. December 4, 201312 yr Every time he scores his price goes up a million.... Well then its a good thing we don't have to buy him.
December 4, 201312 yr There is always that chance Lukaku will never come back to Chelsea or will but'll never make it here if he does. Competition is absolutely massive in our team even if you don't rate our current strikers. Unfortunate injury, great form from his competition and so on. I really think he does make it here as he is one of the biggest talents in Europe but I don't consider Chelsea with/without Jose being the best place for nurturing young talent even with our loaning system.
December 4, 201312 yr according to f365 he handed in a transfer request http://www.football365.com/news/21554/9049533/Lukaku-Asked-To-Leave-Chelsea-Before-Loan-Move apologies if already linked elsewhere
December 4, 201312 yr Romelu Lukaku is one of only 3 players to have scored a PL hat trick against man united. David Bentley(2006), Dirk Kuyt(2011) being the other two.
December 4, 201312 yr Barcelona are interested in a shock move for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in Spain. Lukaku is currently on loan at Everton where he has bagged an impressive eight goals in nine Premier League outings for the Toffees. Barca boss Gerardo Martino’s interest in the Belgium would be something of a surprise considering he already has an impressive strike force at his disposal which includes Argentina superstar Lionel Messi – who is currently sidelined with a hamstring problem – Brazilian Neymar and Alexis Sanchez of Chile. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has repeatedly said the 20-year-old is going nowhere and insists Lukaku will be returning to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. However, the pair have something of a frosty relationship and the right bid may just test the Chelsea manager’s resolve. Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keen to keep hold of Lukaku, who has also been linked with Tottenham, but should the Blues decide to sell it’s unlikely Mourinho would allow the striker to join a Premier League rival. http://metro.co.uk/2013/12/04/barcelona-preparing-shock-move-for-chelsea-striker-romelu-lukaku-4213320/?

December 4, 201312 yr When aren't Barca interested in one of our players? I'm fairly sure in the last few years it's been Drogba, Mata, Luiz and now Lukaku. If they want to stump up £50m for Lukaku then that's up to them but I don't see us selling for anything short of a hefty profit.
December 4, 201312 yr Why on earth would Lukaku want to go to Barca? If he's unhappy about not getting games at Chelsea then he's got no chance at Barca. Messi is king with Neymar and Fabregas in the pecking order. He'd be forth choice at the very best. Edited December 4, 201312 yr by Huttsey

December 4, 201312 yr Lukaku and Everton edge closer to us, our big man got a big assist even though he was trying to shoot - lucky lad Also he made Vidic his bitch on several occasions - just completely out muscled him First win by Everton away at United since 1988 Edited December 4, 201312 yr by Las7
