Lukaku to Everton

Featured Replies

I'd rather we kept them both. We could have had Lukaku and Sturridge up top, with Torres in spain, Ba in Newcastle and Eto'o still freezing his nuts off in Russia somewhere.

If we had we would have had the perfect strike force, technique and a beast.

I watched the whole game from a live feed yesterday.

As someone who as always said this kid will lead our line as the way Drogba did there

is no reason to change my mind.

You have to pinch yourself to think he is yet to near the age of 21.

Given Drogba was a late starter we will get years out of a player who indeed is

'the beast'

An outstanding technical yet powerhouse of a player who can lead a line by himself.

I'd go as far as saying yesterday was as good a performance I have seen from an out

and out centre forward bar Drogba in recent years.

As for Sturridge, yep we have handed Liverpool the SAS version of Sutton and Shearer.

If indeed Liverpool stay up with the pace it will be down to his signing.

His goal yesterday was pure class.

Pro or contra he scores 5 in 5 . If he stays doing this hom many will he have end of season ? Doesnt matter if he can keep the ball up 25 times for a movie in a bar, scoring goals is what he's paid for.

Martinez on Lukaku development, calling on him to keep his fitness improving..

Martinez believes that the Belgian international, whose key attributes are strength and power, is improving his fitness level to last the full course of a match with his physical style of play.

The Spaniard has hence urged Lukau to build on his impressive outing against Aston Villa on Saturday, when he caused problems for the Villa defence with his physical presence for the full duration of the game.

"I do feel he is getting stronger for longer in games and remember, Rom plays with real power and that’s the way he should be playing every time he’s on the pitch”, Martinez explained to his club’s official site.

"It was positive for him to finish the whole game against Villa.

“Now he must try to carry on working hard and make sure that his strength and power can be there to help the team for the full duration of the game."

Lukaku, who joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011, has been capped 23 times by Belgium and has five international goals to his name.

Encouraging signs for Romelu that he completed 90 minutes, hopefully he can keep it up and continue improving!

For those who said recently discussed issues around Lukaku's fitness levels were "a load of bollocks" etc, there you have it from Martinez's mouth!

  • 4 weeks later...

He wasn't very good yet scored two huge goals in Everton's biggest match of the season!

No one can convince me Torres/Ba/Eto'o should be starting ahead of Lukaku - rough around the edges he might be but he does his job

well well well. I think it is high time that we engineer a daring plot to capture Lukaku, cut off his hair, change his last name and get him in a Chelsea shirt.

I can't watch six more months of this.

Well, we can probably pass him off for Juan.

can we just enjoy the fact that this boy is ours rather than whinge about why he isnt playing for us this year? regular games will help him develop even more, so next season we will have an even better version at the bridge banging them in

Nabbed 2 points off one of our title rivals.

I would rather he were here, but it's great to see him taking another step up from last year.

He definitely is the next Drogba. To put into persepective, Didier was in Le Mans reserves when he was 20. We'll have many years to reep the fruits of our investment. The pain now will be worth it in future years. But he HAS to be first choice next season.
