October 9, 201312 yr “The manager makes his decisions and I have to respect them, so I chose to go out on loan. “I chose to leave and it’s up to me to prove the coach wrong. The only thing I can do is play well and score a lot and then I think people will say that I’m a good player. “I want to score more goals than all the strikers currently at Chelsea. We will see at the end of the season who made the best choice. “I hope my goals will help Everton finish higher than Chelsea.” http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/343875/Romelu-Lukaku-I-want-to-outscore-Chelsea- It's apparently a mistranslation, or probably deliberate to sensationalise it. He said he wants to score more than our strikers.
October 9, 201312 yr Well either way I'd hope he DOES want Everton to finish above Chelsea, after all he will be playing for Everton all season. I hope he has a fantastic season, obviously not so good that Everton finish above us, and returns to us to be our main striker next season.
October 9, 201312 yr It's apparently a mistranslation, or probably deliberate to sensationalise it. He said he wants to score more than our strikers. *shrugs* Who knows anymore. The Guardian reporting the same thing completely left out the "want to finish higher than Chelsea" part so it's more than possible it doesn't translate well from the original interview. The message I keep getting from all of his interviews is that he wants to work hard, improve his game and prove to Chelsea that he should have been a part of the team this year but also come back next season and be an integral part of the squad. What more can you ask from a young player really?
October 9, 201312 yr He is obviously showing hunger and a dedication to the team he is currently playing for. Good for him

What more can you ask from a young player really? Hopefully he realises that the tabloids are taking him for a mug soon and stops bothering to talk to them. My guess is he's frustrated but determined to prove himself to Mourinho and the club by doing as well as he possibly can for Everton - which is exactly what Chelsea wants him to do. The papers just turn that into a rebellion. It's as if they think we want him to fail and any evidence of him doing well is a bad thing for us.
October 9, 201312 yr It's apparently a mistranslation, or probably deliberate to sensationalise it. He said he wants to score more than our strikers. It's only a very slight mistranslation. He never used the words 'I hope', but he said that his aim is to finish above us. Which means: "My objective is to score more goals than Chelsea's strikers, and that Everton finish higher up the table than Chelsea." I don't think that's being disloyal. He also says he wants to prove José wrong, so achieving both objectives would help him do that.
October 9, 201312 yr Hes on loan to prove a point, glad to see he's all fired up for that. He has good reasons to be disappointed. There are things we dont know. Is he happy to be the 4th or even the 3rd striker? If he's not , Jose might feel it's better to give him another year playing 30+ games a season. Jose was right, playing for Chelsea is a lot different from Everton. See examples of the last 5-6 strikers we have signed.
October 11, 201312 yr He said some stupid things last season when he went out on loan to West Brom. The boy just needs to shut up and get on with it. Look at Mata or KDB, yes i know they havent been loaned out but they have both been talked down about by the manager and have both kept their mouths closed and worked hard. Lukaku needs to do the same. Just shut up and prove that you are good enough. There is a reason why he is out on loan and why we got Eto'o. He needs to keep working on his game and try again next year.
October 11, 201312 yr ^ Bullsh*t. Lukaku proved himself last year and is outscoring our forwards for fun again this year already.
October 11, 201312 yr Then explain why he is on loan again this season. Its not like we needed the money or we had too many strikers banging in the goals. Jose and the club must feel like he still needs to work on his game and play as many games as possible.
October 11, 201312 yr How should I know, I didn't sanction the loan. Just because a decision was made doesn't mean it was therefore the correct one that makes perfect sense...
October 11, 201312 yr I didnt say it was the correct one or it made perfect sense to us fans. There is a reason, maybe a few reasons why he was sent out on loan so he needs to work on those reasons to become the player that Jose wants to have playing for him.

I don't mind Lukakus comments. I know i'd act in a similar way by trying to prove a point
October 11, 201312 yr If we hadn't loaned him out there would be one less thing to moan about which would have been a travesty, people on here love moaning.
October 11, 201312 yr Good goal as well, showed everything we are missing.. he Will be first choice next season
October 11, 201312 yr Haha hilarious goal from Lukaku - has all the power and cheekiness of his predecessor.
October 11, 201312 yr Brilliant counter attack though, de Bruyne involved too but that was all down to the pure pace and power of Lukaku. On a hat trick already.
October 11, 201312 yr Lets just admit that JM cocked up the striker situation. Most fans wanted to give him a chance and to make it worse he signed a lame has been.Dont blame him if next summer he just asks for a transfer,we deserve it with continous failure to give him a chance.Last season we had the chance to recall him in January but apparently de decided against it and signed Ba.Go figure!I am sure JM diehards will come with all kind of excuses but numbers dont lie

October 11, 201312 yr Unless you have inside info who really knows who actually decided to loan the boy out JM does not have 100% control over all 1st team affairs which he seemed to back in 2004 We all surmise that the DOF and the Board and finally RA weigh in on most transfer/loan decisions Dont be too quick to slag off the happy one, Im sure every time the boy scores he feels like a right billy hunt as well, but the loan is set, its terms are for 1 season, aint nothing we can do why cry over spilt milk peeps ?

Good grief. So because he is doing well on loan, he must surely want to leave the club? As far as I'm aware he hasn't shown any discontent towards the club. Look at the title of this thread for gods sake. Haifarul, why do you constantly look for negatives? Are you extremely pessimistic or just very miserable? Maybe I'm mad, but I think one of our on-loan players playing well is a good thing. No? He's 20 years old and has 3 years left on his contract. Get a grip.
October 11, 201312 yr I didn't get to watch Belgium. If anyone knows where to find some highlights it'd be appreciated.
