July 31, 20169 yr Always been a fan of Oscar because there's obviously a lot of potential. I thought yesterday he started off well, but was a clear liability after about 15 minutes and was taken off at halftime. I fear he's gone, and if we get a good enough offer I will be OK with it. I just don't want to see him go for anything under 25m.
July 31, 20169 yr Would like to see him sold too he does some things good but he really isn't that creative he's a good finisher but as a AM I don't think he does enough doubt he gets sold though I think Conte likes him.
August 1, 20169 yr little diamond to little hindrance. I would have loved him to come good, but think we can bring in someone better.
August 1, 20169 yr I know what you mean but I'd probably take that money and run just to get rid of him ASAP and get a replacement in. I don't see him leaving though, he's the new Mikel.
August 1, 20169 yr £30m on sky apparently in today's market I think we should be pushing for more. Sell him to China problem solved 60m easy.
August 1, 20169 yr £30m on sky apparently in today's market I think we should be pushing for more. i agree, we need to ask for minimum 40 mil, all Europe wants to sell at double the price and buy cheap from us since this TV deal. Ridiculous. He has more than 3 years left on his contract with us, he is only 24 so why sell him cheap?
August 1, 20169 yr If we're selling the fee doesn't really bother me. We need to trim the squad and need to be realistic that other leagues aren't going to be willing to pay the same high fees that we do.

For me a player has a certain value regardless who is asking. My point was we have a good bargaining position. Both Juve and Inter are interested, now looks like Milan is looking at him as well Let's get the maximum we can.

My point was we have a good bargaining position. Both Juve and Inter are interested, now looks like Milan is looking at him as well Let's get the maximum we can. I'm saying a player is only worth what a club is willing to pay for him. Do you think a club outside of the Premier League would be willing to spend £50m on John Stones or £60m+ on Lukaku? I don't. Supposedly a club in China offered £50m+ for Oscar recently but you won't see an Italian club offer that because they're not cash rich. I honestly don't think in today's market where wealth is so skewed that you can view it as black and white as "one price fits all".
August 1, 20169 yr For me a player has a certain value regardless who is asking. The value a club will pay for a player, that is the players worth.

I understand your argument still think Chelsea should not accept 30 mil just because it comes from an italian club. A player's worth is also what the owner is willing to sell for. If Chelsea are happy to sell for 30 mil than that's Oscar's value :) Speaking of an Italian club and valuations looks like Inter just made a 42 milion pounds offer for Cavani. Yeah but Cavani isn't sh*t.
August 1, 20169 yr Yeah but Cavani isn't sh*t. Yeah he's not sh*t he's just not as good as the media makes him out to be. Edited August 1, 20169 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
August 1, 20169 yr Yeah he's not sh*t he's just not as good as the media makes him out to be. He's a lot better than Oscar is though! 42m in a world where Lukaku is going for double really isn't that bad for a ST either.
August 1, 20169 yr I am just glad that we dont have to pay anything. Just sell him, and somehow slyly add mikel to the contract too. Also try and find a new club for pedro.

So we should be keeping Oscar then? Ill take the 30 mill thank you very much
August 1, 20169 yr So we should be keeping Oscar then? Ill take the 30 mill thank you very much What about a straight swap with Leicester for Mahrez? I think that will be sweet, unfortunately Leicester don't rate him.
August 1, 20169 yr Like most on here, I think Oscar's time should be up. Once in a blue moon he looks great but far too many abject performances - not the sort of bloke you want in the trenches when the going get's tough. Thought I would go back and have a look at the opening post to see what prompted the thread in the first place. To be fair back then, he perhaps was a little diamond. But boy, 3 and a half years on - just shows how much can change. How good is he.....man of the match against England, easily best player on the pitch, and at Newcastle. He can play anywhere in the middle or behind the strikers, he can pass short or long, can tackle, can shoot and has great awareness around him - what about the goal against brentford. Also a bit of a character, so glad we got him
August 1, 20169 yr Yeah back then we all thought we had brought in the next big thing. Sadly he has regressed badly and became a bit stale at Chelsea. Time to say our goodbyes.
