Oscar - Little Diamond

Featured Replies

the fact you had to use 'probably' speaks volumes

he, alone, f**ked up that counterattack

no, he didnt. oscar and the rest of our team did most of the work

No it doesn't, it means I'm not as myopic as regards Oscar as you are.

Tell the whole story, so did Costa, Hazard, Fabregas

Don't leave the ground and tackle, no sending off - Ref had the red card out within 15 seconds of the tackle, he'd made his mind up without the help he got afterwards

You don't rate him, that's OK, however he offered more than most last night, until he was stupid and got himself booked. I think that forced Jose's hand as the ref could well have tried to even things up by sending one of ours off for something soft.

Fabregas was good yesterday, people who say he wasn't weren't very observant really.

He did what he should do, get our best players on the ball, a centre mid shouldn't be relied on to make clear cut chances when we have three attackers behind the striker. Fabregas was getting plenty of attacks going.

The likes of Ramires and Oscar were inefficient and Willian when he came on. Hazard was also poor by his standards but even then he is that good he was still our best attacker, that is what's worrying. It goes to show the difference of class, he is a tremendous player but we shouldn't have to rely on him all the time.

Oscar yet again had little impact, and I can see this being an occurring thing from now and until the end of the season just like last.

Show me a game this season where Oscar has come off and we've played significantly better, then list the best performances of the season and tell me who's at 10.

What is your point though? I already know our side doesn't have much depth, Oscar is really our only CAM we have besides Willian and Fabregas but Wllian doesn't play there, he usually roams around and if you play Fabregas in that position then we have to play either Mikel or Ramires next to Matic.

It's pretty clear we lack depth. Fabregas is a much better footballer than Oscar is, he can make more of an impact in that position, however he has only ever played in that position when we have set up defensively, he played there once when we went on the attack and I believe that was against Shalke at home, we didn't win the game but we created lots of chances, Didier was very wasteful on the night. I could be wrong though but I'm sure it was one of the CL home games if not that then Maribor.

I honestly believe he doesn't know quite what role he should be playing at times, and he is definitely held back by our structure.

Oscar, ramires, and willian are not good enough in either aspect when we are playing good opposition. Think we should still seal the title, but I can't see the current squad going on to dominate.

Have too agree ... Oscar, good player but definitely not irreplaceable ... William, the same can be said ... Rambo, form dipped over two seasons now ...

Poor again. These anonymous displays are getting very frustrating.

Anonymous? He had three good goal scoring chances and it took some good goalkeeping to keep him out.

I thought he was quite good in the second half, particularly with his movement, actually giving us an option and an outlet near to goal.

One of those chances goes in and I imagine people would be signing a different tune.

It wasn't a vintage Oscar performance by any means but it was an improvement on his recent performances.

Take it back to the Newcastle game, he had a bad game and because he scored the goal not many people were criticising him.

I felt that he was making more of an impact the 2nd half, that's a good sign to see, but the first half jesus christ, he was abysmal. Nowhere to be seen all game and when he did get the ball he gave it away and couldn't control it.

You expect to see more from a number 10, the number 10 role is for someone to make things happen not a passenger role by any means but it is additional yes. We still need things to happen there.

How is this in any way relevant?

'If something different happens, then the reaction will also be different'. You should write a paper on that. Might win a prize

Way to completely miss the point.

And what is the point exactly?

That he wouldve had a good performance if he had managed to score?

That if he scored, people would be on here saying what a good game he had!

I don't think he was that bad, certainly better than willian. But like the rest of the team, he only turned up at half time.

That if he scored, people would be on here saying what a good game he had!

Well he didnt score. And it wasnt by some stroke of luck either. He wasted those chances by himself. How can that be used to vindicate his performance?

It can't be used to vindicate his his performance, but I don't think that was Remodez' intention.

i think he should be kept as a squad player, he is still young and could raise his game, but we definitely need some sterner competition for places in midfield, players get lackadaisical when they have no competition.

I hate this expression, but he seems low on confidence. Never takes on his man and almost always makes the easiest pass available. Contrast that to Cesc giving the ball away repeatedly, but at least trying to make positive passes.

I like Oscar, but he has to start playing well more consistently.
