    The biggest liability in our team defensively is Matic, people ghost past him just as easily as they do Cesc, I'd argue the fact he's meant to be a ball winning midfielder makes that all the more criminal from his point of view.

     

    I think it points to the sheer professionalism of Fabregas that he doesn't cause more of a fuss about not being in the team week in, week out when Matic is playing like a donkey.

     

    The boy has to start for the rest of the season, Matic is a passenger and we need creativity that doesn't just stem from Hazard.

    We need to start Cesc against Spurs but I know Conte's not going to play without Matic so playing a 3-5-2 from the start seems the best choice. Not playing the 5 in midfield until late in the game is one of the main reasons we lost to them last time around.

    If not him then we should go with Loftus-Cheek. I don't care how inexperienced Loftus-Cheek is. Sometimes it's good to throw a young player in there. Loftus-Cheek isn't going to get brushed off the ball either.

    I just think he is so underused right now. There is a player in there, he just needs that chance.

    Weird really, because he was so good at it only 2 seasons ago. These days he's even getting outmuscled by players. I never thought the Premier League would be a league to soften a player up, but it's certainly happened with Matic. The guy was hard as rock when he first rejoined us.

    It's bizarre but he never was a defensive midfielder for Benfica. He was a box to box. Mourinho moulded into more of a destroyer but he clearly cannot cope with the work ethic. I also think Matic was one of the "tool downers" from last season.

    We all know Conte's never going to use RLC deep in midfield. 

    matic was fantastic during our winning streak, but since the start of the year he has been utterly sh*te. apply a bit of pressure on him and it's like watching a clumsy drunk giraffe with a blindfold on, running around with no direction kicking the ball aimlessly it's really frustrating

    Really impressed with Cesc's latest interview where he talks about having a winning mentality, telling Hazard to score more etc. 

    Showing real leadership skills. I hope that there is a place for him next season to stay on and Conte can find a way to use his strengths. We saw the difference when he came against Spurs how much more we controlled the game.
