September 29, 201510 yr Someone please give him his magic hat back !!! He's wearing a cloak of invisibility this year.
September 29, 201510 yr Shocking performance by him again today. A number of poor passes coupled with a number of balls getting by him that shouldn't have. He also had a couple of passes that he didn't make that prevented us from countering. Trouble is, despite him underperforming, he is always selected and rarely if ever substituted. So, what's encouraging him to play better?
September 30, 201510 yr Now 'the magic' has deserted him, you can see the basics are not in his game. Tackling, heading, simple passes, all the things you rely on every player in the squad being able to do, the basics. His Hollywood passes used to hide all that.
September 30, 201510 yr It's time for him to be dropped. The biggest wake up call an out-of-form player can get is when he is not playing. Let RLC or even Oscar play at his position..

September 30, 201510 yr text jose and let him know. I wish I could, mate. But judging from Jose's recent decisions, I won't be surprised if he ignores it.
October 12, 201510 yr Cesc Fabregas missed his fourth penalty in a row, on his 100th cap for Spain, in their 1-0 win over Ukraine in the Euorpean Qualifiers. http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10026680/fabregas-misses-another-penalty
October 13, 201510 yr That's a pretty bad miss. The keeper was already moving to his left just before he kicked the ball.
October 13, 201510 yr I don't like staggered run ups on penalties, I like it to be one fluid movement. LeBoeuf, Hasselbaink and Lampard would have their spot picked and just place it there as best they could.
October 15, 201510 yr http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10028963/cesc-fabregas-insists-chelsea-can-retain-their-premier-league-title Now, put on your magic hat and let your work rate do the talking.
October 16, 201510 yr I think he is best utlised at the tip of a 3 man midfield, not deep lying in a 2 man holding midfield. Ramires, RLC and Fabregas tomorrow please.
October 16, 201510 yr He seems to have lost that belly fat. Now all he needs is his magic hat. https://instagram.com/p/83qS-1A92M/
October 16, 201510 yr If he doesn't step up tomorrow he won't have Ivanovic or Matic to take the blame for him, although he has come in for criticism from all quarters, I feel he has gotten away with most of the flak, and he's put in the worst performances in the team this season, even surpassing Ivanovic, the worst being his display against Citeh a few weeks back.
October 16, 201510 yr For me, even if he gets back to his best, which I assume is the August - November 2014 period, he's not good enough to play every game. He's great on the ball with time and space, play him in the mid table home matches where he can have a positive influence on the team without sacrificing the balance just to fit him in. In fast paced away matches he struggles, against top teams he usually struggles, against any kind of aggression and pressing he struggles. I'm sure Jose sees that as he plays Ramires and Mikel to cover for him but it needs to be a priority to fix. To put the blame on Matic in this situation who since he came back has been exceptional until the last month is ridiculous to me. We'll see in the summer if Jose goes all out to get Pogba or we move on to other targets.
October 18, 201510 yr He made an assist against Aston Villa by a good ball to Costa. I expect him to give these crosses every game, at least 2-3 in one half. But on other side, he showed a poor performance again. Jose wants Hazard to track back every attack which is correct, but is Fabregas doing the same? I don't think so.

He's an attacking player, going up and down at every opportunity and expect him to excel at both ends is very logical, is it? ya think he's some sort of superman? why must he play in such system? is chelsea some sort of midtable team that require so much of their attacking outlets to chip in a considerably defensive duty? we're a top team ffs, should act like one..

I understand your point and agree with half of it. We should look like a top team and we have the ability for that. We have good players and we must play better football. But tracking back doesn't lower any level of a top team. Attacking wingers should focus more on attack, that's right but without their help we will lose control in the defence. When a team playing with an attacking RB or LB, a winger must track down with him to keep an eye on him and be first on the ball once the ball is near his area. He doesn't always have to track back, sometimes there are situations that we need attacking players forward, at the second half of the pitch to start a quick counter attack. It all depends on how Jose wants us to play, in my opinion by Jose's system we should look like a team, everyone helps everyone. But I do agree that sometimes our attacking players don't affect on the game because of defensive work.
October 18, 201510 yr So were Barcelona some sort of mid table team also then, because there defensive philosophy was every player on the pitch has to defend, as soon as they lost the ball.

That's not what I meant, all I'm saying attacking outlets shouldn't be burdened too much for defensive duty, just like defensive outlets shouldn't be burdened to score goals.. If the system requires them to do so then that's what lower the level of top team...
October 18, 201510 yr So were Barcelona some sort of mid table team also then, because there defensive philosophy was every player on the pitch has to defend, as soon as they lost the ball. ya talk as if ya understand barca style.. The possession game and 'intelligent' pressuring game they employ have all meaning beyond the obvious case.. Their defense philosophy isn't just about man to man defending but also to close down the option of the opposition player with the ball which is really effective,, They anticipated where the ball is going to be passed to and capture that option.. The closer player to cover each other, no need for the player at another end to track all the way back to the other end all the time.. It's more like a zonal marking.. Lots of simple minded people have no idea about the purpose of possession game, having the ball is also an art of defence, it's also another way to give the players a breathing space.. Barcelona doesn't lose possession easily but chelsea do due to lack of offensive gameplan from the manager.. once a defensive manager is always a defensive manager, so naive of me to think he can change, I just hope he stay true to his words he said when he rejoined chelsea 2 years ago, if the result is not good enough then resign, don't ask for the sack so that he can get severance package wasting the club money..
October 18, 201510 yr Absolutely none if what you said opposes my argument that every player is expected to defend, their philosophy is to hunt in packs, usually of 3 players. As for simple minded, shove it up ya arse you Muppet.
October 23, 201510 yr It all makes sense now, sign and play fabregas every minute so he persuades messi to join!!
October 31, 201510 yr When he came on I thought the fact that he was dropped would change him, but it didn't. I was following his game and it was seems like he doesn't want to run anymore. Three situations that he had to get quickly down and help the defence but he decided to stand. His approach really disappointing him, and I hate to see players like RLC casualties of it and doesn't play.
October 31, 201510 yr Fabregas will only shine in teams that dominate possession. His downfall in form coincides with are change from a possesion game to a counter attack game.
