Cesc Fabregas

Can't blame them really we'd do the same

I would hope not. Why didnt they do it when he went to Barcelona though. It really is very petty.

It is funny though.

He's gone from being a club legend/idol and now plays for a rival so there will be a bit of revisionism by their fans now.

Probably not a club legend then...if Drogba went to ManU I'd still consider him a club legend.

But that's what I'm saying, he was held in the regard of being a legend because of the whole "once a gooner, always a gooner" stuff and the majority of Arsenal fans were convinced that were Fabregas ever to leave Barca he would return to Arsenal... But now he's with us which is why I said there'll be a lot of revisionism.

Yes

It's no different than a big picture of Mata being taken down at Stamford Bridge.

How many of you would object to that?

I suspect none.

Don't blame them at all.

Do not think we have got a Ken Friar bridge.  :laugh2:

Got a Stamford one though.

I think it comes down to the manner in which a player in question leaves their club in question.

Juan Mata left us on great terms with the fans, although probably not Mourinho, so I have nothing but fond memories of his time with us even if he plays for a rival now. Robin van Persie leaving Arsenal in the manner that he did however was a cause for anger and I'd understand the fan backlash if I were an Arsenal fan.

On that note, Arsenal fans have little ground to stand on hating on Cesc. He was a Barcelona player at the time of his transfer and Wenger had the option to bring him back but did not for some strange reason.

Fabregas was Chelsea's first signing of the summer, moving to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona on a five-year deal for a fee reported to be around £30m.

Mourinho says it only took him 20 minutes to convince the Spanish international to join the Blues, insisting that the former Arsenal captain never voiced a desire to return to his former club.

"I spoke with him for 20 minutes. I think he really wanted to come to us," said Mourinho during an interview with BT Sport.

"Arsenal had an option where they could interfere, but I think he was not open to that. He was very much in our direction, so it was an easy job for me."

I would love to see the Arsenal fans reaction to that

All the trolling Gooner tw@ts have been kicking off on the Telegraph, slating Jose and claiming they never wanted Fabs back anyway.

The stench of sour grapes emanating from the Emish*ts is quite potent.

Can't wait to see him play. I think hes a great signing. HG as well which makes it even better.

Credit where credits due - the board have been fantastic this summer. Real good work. Dare I say it, best transfer window ever?

It might be, depends on how Fabregas and Costa cope. They both can turn out to be anything from amazing to flops, so I'm a bit more careful at this point with how I assess our transfer dealings this summer.

The good news is obviously that in theory we have no problem zones left anymore.

I disagree a little. I think Fabregas will be grand. Costa is the only worry.

Yes, Chelsea posted a photo not that long ago of them landed and the players leaving the plane, Fabregas is in the photo.

Excellent, its alllllllll coming together nicely.

fabregas is in neither of the pics on @chelseafc twitter timeline, but given torres and costa are in full view then its pretty safe to say fabregas is there somewhere

Fabregas is in the pics of the squad going to Austria, just has a haircut so looks a bit different.

take your word for it - cant see him. If its the pic of torres coming off the plane, zoom in - that aint fabregas beside him.

Edited by CFC_RFC_TID!

Fabregate, is he there or isn't he?

EDIT: Just had a look and it's def him next to Torres, he's just shaved his head quite close.
