And he is infinitely better than Turnbull (not that this says much!)

Really suprised by this news. Would have preferred having someone young and homegrown as the 3rd keeper. Thankfully the chances of Hilario playing this season are very slim indeed, lets just hope there's no goalkeeping crisis at any point.

Maybe the club aren't so sure about Blackman?

Im not shocked by this. Jose was the one to bring him to the club. Dont Jose and Hilario share the same agent also?

I would have rather seen Blackman get the chance but this is Chelsea and that was very unlikely to happen. I think it would be best for Blackman to try and get a loan. The problem he has is he would want to play at a good level on loan and those teams already have the best keepers they can get.

Bit of a strange one as with Turnbull leaving and the club seemingly choosing Hillario over Blackman we are down a oh so crucial homegrown place.

Unless the club a fairly sure they are bringing in an English payer of course...

Hilario resigning means he takes up one of the foreign spots in the team, which means we are only after Rooney.

Thats pretty much how I see it, I expect to see Blackman go on loan somewhere now. It has to be remembered that Hilario has also trained with Cech for quite a few years now which will help keep consistency.

Certainly makes sense in that respect but in terms of homegrown players it's a strange one. With Turnbull leaving I assumed Blackman was a certainty, but now we are essentially down a 'homegrown' player. Which is crucial.
