Victor Moses

Featured Replies

I think the issue with him is that he never stood out for us. When he was at Wigan id say it was Big Fish Small Pool Syndrome and when he was at Palace he was just a fearless kid. The fact that hes homegrown is an unfair reason for keeping him IF thats the only reason. I think you have to ask yourself Is he a world class player? To that i would have to answer no.

How did he not stand out? He had 10 goals and 4 assists in 43 games. Oscar had 12 goals and 9 assists in 64 games. As a squad player who gets mostly sub appearances, Moses produced.

So you can honestly say that when you watched him he done stuff that took your breath away in an Oscar/Hazard or Mata kind of way?

Thats what i meant by stood out. A winger or wide midfielder has to have that little bit of magic for me.

Its not all about stats, sometimes its about enjoying watching them play aswell.

even Chelsea's best teams that won the titles had players like moses...not a robben, but a good solid performer that can prove useful, just like he showed last season...from what you've seen of schurrle so far, have you seen anything from him that's any better than moses?

he looks similar to me, but at double the price

So you'd rather watch him do a few step-overs, take all the defenders down and lose the ball than him contributing for the team and scoring goals?

And yet 90% of the people on this place say its not about stats and enjoying watch we watch when it comes to our boring sit back, counter attacking style. So our players have to have flair and be enoyable to watch but then we sit back and don't attack?? By the way, moses was our most direct player who liked to run at people and take them on. How is that enjoyable to watch?

Sigh

Exacly how i feel. I don't understand why the club thinks the way they do. I wouldn't be surprised if Moses goes and has a great season at Liverpool.

I also don't get the negative comments about him on here. Last season was his first season at the club and for his first season playing as a squad player he did petty damn well. It seems some people involved with Chelsea don't have any patience when it comes to bulding players.

When we first signed Joe Cole he scored one goal in his first season, if that was now we would probably have loaned him out the next season. We have no patience for or homegrown players and i am sick of it.

Im not sold on Shirley yet as i havent seen enough of him.

Now thats just silly isnt it.

Firstly each to their own but me personally im not a statistic counter. As for Moses being our most direct ' run at em ' kinda guy if thats what you got from him when you watched him then fine, i just didnt rate him as world class as i have already said.

Your spelling of Schürrle just costed 3 people their lives.

If you watched the Super Cup, you'd have seen just enough of him.

maybe  not world class, but a good squad player who scored 10 goals for us last season and looked very good in pre-season...bemused how quickly he fell out of favour...and to loan him? what's the point of that? if Jose doesn't think he's good enough now...I fail to see how that's going to change in a year....only wish we'd thought of the same thing with Sturridge

most of the goals he scored were against sub par opposition

So you'd rather watch him do a few step-overs, take all the defenders down and lose the ball than him contributing for the team and scoring goals?

the first part of the sentence describes moses to a tee

I promise you that i know Shurrle is not spelt Shirley, but  i guess you had to have been at the original convo to appreciate the comedy in it.

And if one game maketh the man i think theres quite alot of ex Chelsea players who would still be Chelsea players. Thing is im not for one minute saying that Moses was/is sh*t just that i in my own personal opinion which counts for less than zero to most of you do not think that he was world class and irreplaceable .

Strong rumours circulating that Chelsea were prepared to sell Moses to Liverpool but Jose was concerned he would have an impact like that of Sturridge on merseyside.

It really is a concern we are strengthening a rival when it is obvious had we not given them Sturridge on a silver platter they would be out of the carling cup let alone leading the premiership at our expense !

Brendon Rogers knows our team inside out the worry is he will entice a few young starlets to Anfield from our academy in years to come.

Personally if it is indeed as expected to be confirmed as a loan deal I'd rather it be West Ham or WBA !

Maybe if we loaned out Sturridge to Liverpool for a season , we might of kept him,I like Moses and hope he improves even if its Liverpool,I don't consider them a threat yet.

Ozil according to Barry Silkman via sky feed going to Arsenal but Chelsea considering late approach

Then who would be the one to go in the one comes in one goes Jose way?

Think Silkman is trying to drum up wages - sky are reporting now on yellow bar 'Arsenal bid 42.5 million for Ozil' cannot see us getting involved anywhere near that price !
