Mikel for me, well suited to the tough away games and looked composed other than his obligatory shot into the stands;

A few players under par for me that made Mikels mom vote easier.

Have to agree. Mikel really didn't do anything wrong (bar that poor late tackle which got him a yellow card). He was composed throughout and took the ball forward well at times to.

Mikel for me as well. He did what was expected of him and made some good tackles. Other than Mikel there was only Hazard who did anything really, he's by far our best player at the moment and Mourinho knows it

Mikel with 19/19 votes! And not in an ironic way either.

He was fantastic. On a few occasions he drifted past numerous Everton players like they weren't there, made lots of vital tackles and passed very well.

We won't talk about the shot that nearly made it out of the stadium

Mikel, possibly only Terry comes close. Team full of 5s and 6s out there today.

Doesn't change my opinion of him generally though. Still not good enough for the level we aspire to and the flaws are there for all to see, but gets the credit tonight.

Mikel for me too.

So glad most agree, listening to talksport on the way back from goodison and the first 2 supposed Chelsea fans that called in we're slagging him off. The usual "why is he still in a Chelsea shirt" bullsh*t.

I have been critical of him in the past, but credit where credits due he was our best player by a mile today.

well they must be idiots...mikel was strong, won a lot of possession back for us and was noticeable throughout...only problem is when we're chasing a game, what help does he provide?

Agreed i wanted to see Luiz push into his position. Also would rather he put Oscar deeper and put KDB on.

It was still about 10 yards closer than Eto'o attempt from a similar range.

I thought Mikel was very good, although I went for Luiz who slightly edged it for me.  I thought that he was good defensively, and was the sole person really trying to push the tempo when we went quiet for the 2nd half of the first half, and at points during the second - although I must admit that I was pretty happy to see him back in the lineup, so this could cloud my objectivity a little.  Mikel was superb for most of the match although I think he was slightly at fault for the goal, when he misses his tackle, which in turn brings Ramires over and slowly moves back into the box as they're completing their passing move to get the cross across.

Outside of those two, I'm struggling to remember who really shone.  Hazard was ineffectual for large periods due mostly to double and treble teaming, Schurlle looked bright in points, and would want his chance back that he chipped wide and it was a similar story for some of the others.

I thought he was out of position a lot of times when Everton came forward. Could have even been sent off late.

Mikel for me.He looked calm and assured throughout.Needs to work on working the keeper, especially when given time and room to shoot, but others were far more wasteful imo.

When I say he was good defensively, I mean more the defensive play when he was in position to make a defensive play.  With Luiz I'm in complete acceptance that he is going to make the attacking bursts, and leave a gap in defense when the likes of Ramires and Mikel are playing to cover the position - the fluidity adds a lot to the marking matchups in the middle of the field.

The yellow card I have no issue with - they got the ball whilst we were heavily committed down their end of the pitch, and felt that he was going to be beaten to the ball, and make the correct decision to take the card to avoid a potential one on one.

Mikel was surprisinglly motm.Dud of the match award goes to...Ashley Cole just plain awfull.Going forward has always been his weak point(Bridge was a great crosser of the ball) but yesterday he just took the biscuit.

I thought Ivanovic was the most involved player at both ends of the field, how much blame can attributed to him for Jelavic getting the header at the far post I can't remember i'd have to watch it again, but yeah overall he was the best IMO.
