July 25, 201510 yr He should play in a Mikel-Matic-Fabregas midfield; we'd basically be guaranteed to never lose the ball.
July 25, 201510 yr He should play in a Mikel-Matic-Fabregas midfield; we'd basically be guaranteed to never lose the ball. We played that against Liverpool in the League cup semis. They overran our midfield -- I don't blame Mikel for that though, it was a pretty a open game. I actually think that was the only time last season those 3 played together, which I find a bit weird.
July 25, 201510 yr He should play in a Mikel-Matic-Fabregas midfield; we'd basically be guaranteed to never lose the ball. we will see how that goes tonight I quite like the look of it think it will work well in the bigger games and hopefully it will get a good test against PSG and work wells. July 25, 201510 yr Sadly tonight again , Mikel showed he has a mistake in him. Since he joined the club he hasn't improved his game one iota, his comments this week whilst being content, suggest a player who is happy with his lot, slippers on and hot glass of milk in the evening. He should have so much more to give at this stage in his career.
July 26, 201510 yr He's not even a defensive mid though, is he? Neither is RLC, so dunno why José persists on trying to turn them into holding mids; just buy a f**king holding mid!
July 26, 201510 yr He should play in a Mikel-Matic-Fabregas midfield; we'd basically be guaranteed to never lose the ball. Unfortunate timing on that comment given how PSG's goal came about Edited July 26, 201510 yr by Jonty
July 26, 201510 yr He should play in a Mikel-Matic-Fabregas midfield; we'd basically be guaranteed to never lose the ball. Well that worked out well.
July 26, 201510 yr I guess we should also conclude that Victor Moses is our most effective goalscorer...
July 26, 201510 yr I guess we should also conclude that Victor Moses is our most effective goalscorer... Plokoon I know you rate Mikel I really don't know why but that's your choice but could you tell me what you feel he offers the team ?
July 26, 201510 yr Plokoon I know you rate Mikel I really don't know why but that's your choice but could you tell me what you feel he offers the team ?He is a decent option, never complains and looks better when we're extremely tight and low in defensive transitions. I have never rated Mikel, but I could always see his value. The problem is that as you aim higher and higher, it becomes like a decent friend you once knew who never matched your ambitions and eventually you left him behind. Now going from Matic to Mikel is a massive step down. Even using him alongside Matic, as he was last night, it absolutely kills our distribution from the back. I have no problem with keeping either Mikel or Ramires, but keeping both and aiming to mount an attack on all trophies is quite frankly, ridiculous. Edited July 26, 201510 yr by venom2011
July 26, 201510 yr Granted he never complains would you complain on 90k a week the deeper he lies the more panic I feel he causes in regards matic I don't compare the two. Mikel in my opinion has been playing the same way well before matic came back but I respect your opinion.
July 26, 201510 yr He's just not a very intelligent or talented footballer. It wasn't just last night, he's made those mistakes frequently in a Chelsea shirt. He's not good enough to play in our first 11.
July 26, 201510 yr We should definitely blame Mikel for getting fouled, Jesus Christ the state of this place nowadays... At least Liam was funny when he criticised Mikel
July 26, 201510 yr We should definitely blame Mikel for getting fouled, Jesus Christ the state of this place nowadays... At least Liam was funny when he criticised Mikel Can you answer my question I asked you I'm curious about your response. Just because your a Mikel fan that don't mean other people can't
July 26, 201510 yr Can you answer my question I asked you I'm curious about your response. Just because your a Mikel fan that don't mean other people can't 1) He's excellent at keeping possession (see the Southampton game from last season, if not see Palace) 2) His close control is very good 3) He's two-footed 4) His first touch is excellent 5) He's the most unselfish member of our entire squad 6) He has excellent positioning 7) He's reasonably physically robust 8) He's great at closing out games blah blah blah N.B. He's not on 90k/week
July 26, 201510 yr 1) He's excellent at keeping possession (see the Southampton game from last season, if not see Palace) 2) His close control is very good 3) He's two-footed 4) His first touch is excellent 5) He's the most unselfish member of our entire squad 6) He has excellent positioning 7) He's reasonably physically robust 8) He's great at closing out games blah blah blah N.B. He's not on 90k/week Ha ha don't agree with any off that you must watch a different Mikel but thanks for your reply and also since you know so much about him what's hes weekly pay ?
July 26, 201510 yr Ha ha don't agree with any off that you must watch a different Mikel but thanks for your reply and also since you know so much about him what's hes weekly pay ? Well you're entitled to your opinion however asinine it may be. He is on 75k/week.
July 26, 201510 yr 75 k a week he really earns it don't he. Let's see how many mistakes he make during the season. You'll probably miss them but let's agree to disagree. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday
July 26, 201510 yr 75 k a week he really earns it don't he. Let's see how many mistakes he make during the season. You'll probably miss them but let's agree to disagree. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday if you're going to count mikel's mistakes, will you also count the amount of times matic misses a tackle? the amount of times fabregas misplaces a pass? the amount of times costa misses a chance to score? or even the times hazard is dispossessed or miscontrols the ball? Why single out one player to focus on their mistakes. they are all chelsea players, some better than others, but why not look at the positives and support our team rather than focus on the negatives?
July 27, 201510 yr 1) He's excellent at keeping possession (see the Southampton game from last season, if not see Palace) 2) His close control is very good 3) He's two-footed 4) His first touch is excellent 5) He's the most unselfish member of our entire squad 6) He has excellent positioning 7) He's reasonably physically robust 8) He's great at closing out games blah blah blah N.B. He's not on 90k/week So 1) Slows the tempo of our play and rarely moves the ball forward forward and as we saw against PSG, is liable to complacency on the ball. 2) Is it really any better than anyone elses in the team? 3) Two-footed to what extent? That he can do 5 yard passes with his left? Again, I think everyone in the team can do that, I can even do that. 4) Again, is it really any better than anyone else in the team? Who has a worse touch than Mikel? 5) Doesn't have the ability to create so he moves it on to those who can...pretty much everyone else in the midfield and even our full backs. 6) Not remotely true, often slow to get into position 7) He's playing a position where physicality is one of the most important traits, but he's tiny compared to Matic and even Loftus-Cheek towers over him 8) I remember numerous times last season when we were winning games, Jose would bring on Mikel and then we'd concede and end up drawing. Doesn't really look that great without all the spin on it.
