He's easy to hate and has become a scape goat and to be honest, it's rather tiresome.

At least he's not to be blamed for our recent troubles. I have full confidence in us grinding out the 1:0 if Mikel comes on the 81st minute the weekend.

actually, as much as he can have disappointing performances, i would much rather had him in instead of fabregas vs city.

Fair enough, but it comes across that way, not from anyone particularly, but just reading comments all of last season, it seems that people can't stand the guy.

Yearly link to Turkey is back, Besiktas apparently interested after a deal for Liverpool's Lucas Leiva fell through. 

I would be concerned if we sold Mikel and didnt bring any other CM in, I would even consider bringing him in for the next few games to provide a little more solidity to the starting 11 and let our front 4 do there stuff.

To be honest I wouldn't mind if he left if it meant that RLC was given a fair crack. 

 

The club have made a big song and dance about the lad being involved this season and so it would be nice to see some proof of their belief in his ability. 

The problem is that RLC isn't a defensive midfielder; the only person he could theoretically be partnered with in midfield is Matic (or Mikel himself).

 

If Mikel does leave (Besiktas can f**k off to be honest) we can't go into this season with only Matic as a recognised defensive midfielder. I'm still extremely unconvinced that Zouma is a viable option there.

Chalobah? If Mou's new contract stipulates promoting youth he may have no option other than to sell Mikel and include Chalobah/RLC this season (I'd prefer Chalobah personally, there's no denying he looks a class above his age group but I don't really get the hype for RLC tbh). I guess much may depend on the outcome of the Pogba transfer.

Chalobah since his new contract has been poor both at Forest and Burnley. If he couldn't get a game at Burnley in the prem last year he's not going to be good enough for us.

It's a shame, seeing as he looked so good at Watford.

Didn't look too bad at Reading by all accounts.
