August 3, 20178 yr think he will improve them like Cech did to gooners, should have forced him abroad imo https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/aug/02/jose-mourinho-nemanja-matic-genius-manchester-united other top 6 clubs wouldn't sell us a virus , Roman is a 'mug' sometimes over transfer dealings but still the best owner in the league
August 3, 20178 yr Roman must have been one of the nicest people in Russian maffia. Chopping your wife's arm off, but at least bring her to the hospital afterwards.
August 3, 20178 yr wallosh Just a heads up, friend. You can multi-quote people using the + button on their post. Will save you time and make things more readable! Thanks. I have no idea how I did that!
August 3, 20178 yr Started for United today against Sampdoria, by reports his 45 minutes were excellent, he has impressed. If he will bring his form back and will do his best for United, we will have to worry because at his best, he is one of the best DM's in the league.Regardless, he is not even close to the top 10 best DM in the world.

August 4, 20178 yr I still haven't seen the exact reason why Matic wanted to leave the club. The papers are saying it's because he wanted to get back with Mourinho, but I thought he had more of a connection to the club rather than Mourinho. I'm thinking that he had a falling out with Conte. If that's true that shows poor man management, Conte could've told Matic to keep fighting for his place to keep the squad strong. I think he is going to prove to be an invaluable player for United and right now they are favourites for the title.

I think he realised that he wasn't good enough or hasn't the energy to play in a conte team and it's not like he's Cesc who brings something extra to the team. He's been band average with the exception of a few months at the start of the season and when it was obvious the Conte was looking another for that position he wasn't prepared to stay and fight and knew his time as a starter was up. he will probably improve Utd a bit but he's hardly the second coming. You must be one of the only ones to think Utd favourites apart from there supporters. Every bookie has them 3rd at best.

I feel like I'm the crazy one who rates Matic. Let us not forget that Matic has been part of a PL winning midfield for 2 of the past 3 seasons. Even if he played very simple passes and was safe in possession, it seemed to work. Just because his game was very basic, it seemed to work. It seems crazy to me that we let him go and replaced him with a player who is completely unproven in the PL. He has been involved for the club since 2009, it's sad that someone with strong ties to us is booted out and the fans don't give a sh*t. I'm not 100% sure in Conte's transfer decisions. A large amount of luck was involved in having a title winning squad which defied expectations. If we perform poorly Conte won't take responsibility, he and fans will blame the board. And he will be happy to leave to Inter or Milan leaving us high and dry.

It appears that he wanted to go and the board in their generosity let him go to the team of his choice even though it may come back to bite us. Matic was a good enough player for us but was never outstanding. Did a job but I think others are capable. Don't get me wrong I think he did well with us and he was a part of a squad that won 2 titles, but him going for £40m does bother me that much it's not that I don't give a sh*t.

August 4, 20178 yr Conte essentially saying in his presser the decision to sell Matic was the club's not his.

They are nowhere near good enough to be considered favorites., even factoring in Jose's second season record.

August 5, 20178 yr Can see why footballers prefer the relative anonimity of London to Manchester, now Nemanja has to deal with the press chasinig his wife and kid around town with cameras.

I think he is going to prove to be an invaluable player for United and right now they are favourites for the title. I agree about how important he'll be to them. However I don't think he had a falling out with Conte, rather he just isn't good enough to play in a 2 and his chances would be reduced unless we plan on playing with 3 in central midfield. The Jose angle I think is partly true, I'm sure he'd love to play for a familiar manager but he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to agitate for a move.
August 9, 20178 yr How was he good? The player he was directly responsible for in Isco completely random the game, he tore utd to pieces and he was Matic's responsibility. There's a narrative being pushed here about matic, he really wasn't good last night, and I say that as someone who didn't want us to sell him.
