Andre Schurrle

Featured Replies

Schurrle haven't played too much to be really judged IMO. Last games he's been involved in he's been average. He scored the brace against Stoke was it with two very good goals. But it has been up and down for him. He needs time to adapt. You can see his has skills to be a very good player so I'm happy we have him.

I like Schurrle, he's very direct and willing to take a shot on goal.

As lovely as it is seeing Hazard, Oscar and Mata doing passing triangles on the edge of the opposition box, when we're struggling to break teams sometimes you need someone to be able to thump one from outside the area and Schurrle is that kind of player.

He's unlucky to not of had a run of games in the side in my opinion, he has barely had consecutive starts in the team for us despite playing some pretty good games.

Willian finding form has pushed him down the pecking order but that's a good thing because it means we are now picking an in form attacking midfield rather than rotating looking for the best team.

Schurrle is a better player than the likes of Moses and Kalou and I think he's a good addition to the squad, not all signings show their best form in their first season but I have seen enough to believe he's going to be a good player for us going forward.

Inconsistent which i knew but he gives us something different and for me has his big potential. He is probably the least talented skill wise in the 6 attacking mids we have but his main attributes speed, dribbling, long shots he is very good at and thats why he's done well at Mainz,Leverkusen and Germany where his goal record is impressive.

Its his first season in England and he has the right manager to hopefully help him develop and gain consistency, but i truly believe Schurrle can become world class and thats why i wanted us to buy him.

Schurrle?

So far its a no from me Bob.

Happy to give him more time though.

Pretty much my thoughts. So far he hasn't looked particularly special in much the same way Moses never did. Definitely the last pick of the creative five.

However early days so more opportunities are required for him to prove his worth.

was never really behind his acquisition, as I think we should have gone after draxler instead. However its much too early to assess him, and I think he has looked promising at times. I heard he was initially stuggling with homesickness, which must have affected his performances.

I think this time next year we will be able to say whether he is a good signing or not. Personally id love to see him play up front like he did at mainz. I know it didn't go so well against united, but it was a cagey, negative, poor performance by both teams.

His finishing is better than what we have seen so far and he has the pace and mobility to be a real threat up front.

People need to get over this thing with De Bruyne. He's been our poorest AM/Winger this season. Anyway, Schurrle offers us something different compared to the likes of KDB, Mata and Oscar. Strength, pace and width

agree with most of this but Schurrle hasn't been better than Oscar this season as of yet.

He is a brilliant signing.

It was a real pity for Chelsea that they couldn't get hold of Mario Gomez in the summer as well, he would have made Chelsea the undisputed best Premier League XI in my opinion. You guys would be scoring for fun.

It is becoming more than obvious that players who weren't mega stars in other teams really impress at Chelsea. When we buy a a finished product the rarely impress.I like him he is a good working winger who can also play as a striker and he has loads of quality.Currently Willian is miles ahead of him in the pecking order.

Surprised he wasn't used last night.

He's got a great eye for goal.

3 goals in 7 starts, all nice goals as well, no tap in's.

If Eto'o and Ba cannot score at home against WH, and Torres injured, should we not be thinking about giving him a run of starts up front ?

At least it will feel like were trying to progress and "rebuild".

Willian had a shocker vs West Ham but I fancy Mourinho to give him the start vs Citeh. Willian will get 45 to show Mourinho it was an off night and if not on comes Schurrle. He makes direct runs, shots, and works hard.

I like Shurrle, there is a lot of room for improvement but a run of games could well help with that, he's often pretty direct as well but for me he is still behind Wilian who hasn't done much wrong and is usually good at winning back possession and keeping it (although less likely to score at the moment).

I don't think Shurrle is giving much different that will change a game as he tends to drift inside and shoot the way Hazard does so that leaves his main competition Wilian who is winning it on work rate.

I'm sure he'll feature but a lot depends on how Salah takes any chances he gets as he is more likely to stay out wide and not get drawn into the same area as everyone else.

I fully agree mate, my thoughts exactly, that's why I'm suggesting he should get some play time as our center forward, as you say, he's pretty direct, I will add he's got an eye for goal, those two attributes along with his youth and probable advancement suggest we should be "rebuilding" with him up front.

He needs more than just the odd run out here and there.

He's got a cracking shot on him and likes to go for goal which is refreshing.

He's alright, seems incapable of beating a man though and is forever just running the ball into opposition players' legs.

early days but there's scope for improvement, however I just can't see him being anything more than a bit part player at cfc. not convinced José even wanted him to be honest.

You could have said all those^ same things about Sturridge.

I'd sooner have sturridge than schürrle.

FYI you're not allowed to talk about Sturridge here. You have to "LET IT GO!!!"

Yeah don't remind me please....

German international….can only get better, he is young and eager to learn and earn his place, Jose' wanted him so I am sure he will not be discarded like Mata, good squad player at the moment.
