Diego Costa to Chelsea

He looks reaaaaal hungry. Maybe that will rub off on Torres?!

What people fail to mention about our strike force is that IF

IF Torres ever came close to his Liverpool days we would destroy all teams & all comps. Just imagine...

I have actually imagined Torres playing like he did for Liverpool plenty of times throughtout his Chelsea career, but it never happens and it never will happen.

It's more than 2 isolated incidents and there's nothing to suggest he won't. We can only hope Jose can temper his aggression.

At around 2mins there's an attempted one at least.

The part at 2:30 where he elbows the defender holding him, gets a punch to the face, cries for half a second before trying to get revenge by grabbing the other guy again with a funny face... Made me LOL for real!

I hope he doesn't get sent off, but I am looking forward to the comedy he brings in between his good football.

You curious about that bro? ;)

Lol I was looking for photos of him on Google images (footballing ones!) and I saw that story come up. The life of a footballer eh; you can look rough as that and still bed brazilian supermodels. You would think he would be a bit more chilled out! Lol.

Costa proving me wrong with every performance! Really looking forward to what he can do next season now. Just hoping we don't become too reliant on him, and run him into the ground!

Are the Costa batterer's already starting to eat humble pie.

Yup.

Mouths full of it after that goal

It was a good goal, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

It's pre-season and it was very poor defending.

Well it is an upgrade from last season!

I believe it took Torres around 15-20 games to score two goals for us after he arrived from Liverpool so here's hope that we finally got our hitman :P

I somehow forgot this game was on, I'll have to find some highlights. But that is an outstanding goal. This is going to be a good season.

They're always good but this one will be outstanding! :p

Costa seems to be doing exactly what I hoped he would. Also there was a filthy challenge by Alves that he responded to in a bog standard 'You tried to break my leg' manner. So i hope that puts the "he can't control his temper" rumours to bed. One thing that is seemingly going unnoticed is what Costa adds in physicality to the team because let's face it as great footballers as Oscar, Hazard, Willian, Schurrle are, none of them have the same presence in the sense that a defender will think twice about trying it (in a nutshell they're p*ssies). Drogba, Fabregas and Costa are all player who don't take sh*t from defenders and will be the th type of players who are first to run over and defend a teammate when the opposition foul and cause a problem. To reiterate as Mourinho famously wrote in his post match press conference the team needed "Balls" it seems we have them now. I for one cannot wait for next week now! Let the season start.

Agree re. the physicality but wildly uncalled for...

I don't think anyone could have expected him to have the pace and quality ball control he has even at speed, I don't think we'll need another striker afterall.

Jonty those who watched La Liga week in week out last season will not be surprised at all. In fact there is plenty more in his locker. Those who concentrated on his performances around the time he got his injury and when he played against us and in the World Cup without the knowledge of football and his season when fit and firing will be. It is as simple as that. When it comes to pound for pound number nine's he is the best in Europe no doubt about it. Suarez you can argue is better but they are different players. I wouldn't swop him for ANYONE and as I said from the beginning a lot of people on here are going to eat their words.

Defending wasn't bad, they were doing the right thing. Two of our players ran across diagonally and the defenders covered the passing lanes, by the time they realised Costa was just going to run it was too late as he was already at full speed.

They could have stayed on their feet imo.

It isn't as simple as that, I've seen him play loads of times over the last seasons, and he has always impressed. I'm not arrogant enough to think that my opinion is anymore right or wrong than yours.

You thought he would be a hit, I thought he would be a miss, does that mean you know more about football?

I would absolutely love him to prove me wrong, and he has started well, but why not leave the childish 'I told you so' until the end of the season, when he's contributed the winning trophies, rather than friendlies.
