Diego Costa to Chelsea

We do not want a repeat of the Rooney saga.

Either we sign him early in the summer or we get someone else. We cannot have our striker search derailed again by a "should I stay or should I go?" situation. Make a decision and we'll go from there.

True, I wasnt happy about our pursuit of Rooney last summer and it seemed very counter productive that it all played out in public so to speak. I prefer that we do our business under the radar.

Rather skeptical of these 50 million quid reports coming out after we clearly stalled on Cavani and Falcaos  price tag last year. Cant see us paying over 35. Also, 185k a week proves to me that these journos are just taking the piss and havent done a single minute of research.

Is he still not signed yet? This will drag all summer. Hopefully, we'll get our business done before the world cup.

I hope we don't sign him but even if we had they wouldn't announce it yet. Not when Atletico Madrid are competing for the League and Champions League. If we do sign him it will probably be after the world cup. We would be stupid to sign anyone before then, what if they get a serious injury ?

Indeed.

Either way, we all know we need a top drawer striker, bring back Lukaku and Bamford, don't forget about Piazon or Lalkovic. Maybe time to start blooding a few of these.

I like that, we need to BLOOD a few of our strikers on the books. What's the risk, honestly? How could they POSSIBLY be worse than our 3 this season?

There is a downside to signing him after the world cup though. If he plays well he could attract more interest which in turn ramps up the transfer fee

If this deal happens it would have to be before the WC... for personal reasons... I cannot stand long transfer sagas.

Hopefully once the King has risen the CL trophy aloft his gorgeous, carefree eyebrows we will swoop in and take Costa from the other lot.

He's an undeniably ugly bar steward, but if we do sign him he'll be our ugly bar steward.

Then it'll be a matter of whether or not he can do the business.

Luis Suarez is also as ugly plus his teeth gosh!

He's hardly an unknown quantity. And he's got a release clause.

Do want it done before the world cup though.

Pretty sure that's Hazards body?

Anyway I hope we have other options lined up as I have a bad feeling about him.

Not an unknown quantity but is he proven on the world stage? No he isn't and this will be the first major tournament to see what he can do.

That Messi's never done anything on this world stage either.

The world cup stopped being a decent barometer for talent a long time ago. He's faced better sides with Atletico this season than he will this summer.

Your missing the point of what I'm saying! I'm not saying if he has a bad world cup that he is a bad player. I'm saying that if he has a good world cup you will start to find more clubs are interested and the asking price will go up. Can you really argue against that point?
