November 2, 20178 yr Another Chalobah situation. Donc blâme him. He'd be the best young player we lost In this way though, no doubt.
November 2, 20178 yr the problem is, even if we put a buy back clause on him who would say he would return.
November 2, 20178 yr Reports saying that he has told the club that he won’t extend his club no matter what and wants to leave in January. Bit big for his boots eh. Another Belgian player with an over inflated ego.
November 2, 20178 yr Or another one like De Bruyne who will come back to haunt us in a few years, because we didn't give him enough of a chance?

He'll go and flourish and be at a top team in a few years like De Bruyne and we'll be moaning on this forum like we do now about KdB.

Are just only Belgian players ambitious? My God! What is happening with Europe?
November 2, 20178 yr This is confusing as we appear to have two threads with the same title - Mods can you merge them? Re Musonda, and for that matter all of our young talent, it is tricky as you cannot be held to ransom by kids who yes, may show a lot of potential but you have no idea whether they will be any good in a few years time. Think the club did the right thing with Solanke and if that now also happens with Musonda, so be it. Would love him to stay, be patient and get more game time but he has to be realistic. We have loads of staff at the club who will be monitoring these youngsters and have to make the call as to whether they think they will make the grade. If we had the next Messi on our hands, I've no doubt the club would not be letting him go anywhere but we have other youngsters on our books who already look like they are going to be better than Musonda.

At the same age we'd just signed De Bruyne and shipped him straight out on loan. Charly is in the squad. If anything, Charly is further advanced in his career at the same age.

How many youngsters are better, Nibs? And when do you expect them in the fist? On which positions? Do they have patience?

That's all very subjective KRC, but here is a list of players who in my opinion, have a better chance of making it at CFC: Tammy Abraham RLC Ampadu Mason Mount Hudson-Odoi George McEachran (couldn't resist that one) Now I know there are various positions here and some of these lads are only 17/18 but what I'm getting at is that we know only a small number will make it through from the Academy and it's all about blending them with existing squad + purchases. So Charly is playing a risky game and runs the danger of being the new Theo Walcott.

De Bruyne impressed on loan and in his early appearances for us, the opposite is true of Musonda.

How can Charly impress if no one will put him on the pitch for a run of games? He impressed against Forest then wasn't seen for over a month. Many people are saying that he shouldn't be asking to leave because he hasn't shown any glimpse at Chelsea. I just find that strange when he isn't given the platform to do so. (Rant not aimed at you btw)

Musonda has done sweet FA, runs around a lot without doing much. Won't miss him personally if he leaves it perhaps creates an opportunity for Hudson-Odoi.

Between his games at Betis and his two apps here he for me doesn't make enough influence in games or moves to benefit the team, when i see the likes of Abraham, Christensen and heck even Ampadu the difference is night and day. His talent can't be denied, but if it was all about talent i would have had an outside shot at a pro career (my addiction to Saturday nights out saw to that).

Mate, I dont think Musonda has the problem that you are alluding to. IF anything, he looks like an ambitious young lad who whole heartedly believes in himself and his talent and wants to make it big. If willian was a 20 year old, would you say he has shown enough to get starts or off the bench appearances? Imho, surely not. As for the everton game, I saw a player trying to do everything on his own. He knew the pressure was on him, and he knew he needed to produce some out of the world moment to get that notice. He failed. Not saying he did not, but the ball's in Conte's court. Does he want to trust a youngster with immense potential/talent or a 29 year old player who has (to put it very mildly) looked hopelessly out of sorts.

He's already on loan to Vitesse, that signals the end of his Chelsea career.

Difference is, most have gone to Vitesse when they are a bit older - Mount is only 18. He does look very decent but it is early days.

I watched both him and Willy vs Everton and while both were awful i felt the Brazilian had some sort of control tactically whereas Charly looked lost. The pressure was on him yes (partly his own doing due to his instagram post), but same could be said for Ampadu and he dealt with the game very well.
