However I will add in to those saying Vitesse is the death of a Chelsea career for players like mount it is a useful step especially at 18 and the reason it's a useful step is below. It's a lot less physically demanding than the championship, but I'd still a technically good league. It is more akin to youth football in that sense, however it is still a big step up in physicality and ability than youth football. It therefore makes a good first stepping stone into the professional game. Also Holland has much less strict visa laws so that helps too. Edited November 3, 20178 yr by PedroMendez

Billy Gilmour looks tidy too, but he's only 16 so a little too early. I am excited for our current crop of under 17/18's youth. I know it's always dangerous to expect youth to play for chelsea lol, but with ampadu and dujon sterling making the bench a couple times, I think we'll start seeing more and more feature for us in the squad/first team in next year or two. I hope anyway ha ha.

Better than reserve/youth football so it benefits the players but not the club itself in terms of getting them ready for first team football. Edited November 3, 20178 yr by Remodez

The pressure was on him yes (partly his own doing due to his instagram post), but same could be said for Ampadu and he dealt with the game very well. I don't think ampadu and musonda's postion is at all comparable, the pressure on them too is quite different. As for Willian, I think he was as hopeless if not more, specially for a 29 year old experienced player who should be leading a young and inexperienced side. And it's not just that game, bar the Watford cameo, he has been shocking. His man city cameo was the single most dreadful cameo I have seen. It made salah and cuadrado's chelsea career look successful.
November 3, 20178 yr Belgians for the most part (i'm going solely on sportsmen, I don't know any personally) seem to feel like they need to shout about their ability. It screams of a staggering combination of delusions of grandeur and insecurity. It's not a good look. It's very obvious in the majority of their footballers but the darts player Huybrechts is the exact same, thinks he's better than he is and isn't shy to big himself up while rarely backing it up. It can only be down do them as a country being surrounded by France, Germany and Holland. If you're the youngest of 4 brothers it must get quite tiresome forever being the little one that no-one really takes notice of so resorting to acting up and a false sense of bravado seems their way of coping. Ironically, in my opinion the clear 4 best belgian players in Hazard, de Bruyne, Alderweireld and Dembele are pretty much low bordering on maintenance free.

Well, it seems, everybody here is happy with Vitesse in the Dutch League, PedroMendez. I just wonder. There are a lot of other clubs in other leaugues. I see Vitesse, every week. It's not that exciting, you know?

Are you Dkw's son, Startedwithglenn? Or dad?
November 5, 20178 yr As much as I want him to stay, coming out on Instgram demanding to be picked is hardly the kind of reaction we want from our players. Does he really believe he's going to a regular starter for Arsenal if he has his way?

Won't miss him personally if he leaves it perhaps creates an opportunity for Hudson-Odoi. Tearing up the Belgium league pmsl. Not exactly a strong case. Musonda tears up the youth league, about the same standard.

Strong enough to had scouts from Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man. U and Man. C., Barcelona, Madrid, Juventus, Milan A. and I., PSG, Monaco, Wolfsburg, Dortmund, Bayern, ... I have seen them all in Genk, RIP Mourinho.
December 8, 20178 yr https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/12/musonda-signs-new-deal.html New contract. :)
December 8, 20178 yr Signed new contract until 2022! Going to be sold, or will be given a proper chance?
December 8, 20178 yr YES - f**k off Wenger you dirty git. I wish Charly gets some more opportunities to show his worth. He could be an absolute star for us.
December 8, 20178 yr GOing to have even fewer in this 3-5-2 system, as Hazard will alwys play, and Willian and Pedro are still ahead of him for that 1 spot.
December 8, 20178 yr We need to loan him ! He needs to play every week at his age, already that Willian and Pedro don't often play with this 3-5-2, so Musonda I don't imagine... we need to loan him in PL club like Watford, Swansea where he can show all his qualities

December 9, 20178 yr His attitude on social media has changed recently he genuinely seems excited about his future here and staying loyal to us. Hope the new deal means he has a future here as he has a lot of talent and hopefully not just to add a few 000's on the end of his price tag.
January 10, 20188 yr Would surely offer more than Willian and Pedro currently. Even played CM last night.
January 10, 20188 yr It's so hard for a young player to come in from the reserves, knowing the chance they've been waiting for for months might be their only one for another 2 months, if they don't play well. There's so much pressure and expectation, especially if they've been trying to break through for some time. We saw it with RLC. The first couple of appearances he looked confident and willing to try things, then as they got more and more sparse, he just focused on playing it safe, trying not to make mistakes. It's virtually impossible to bring players through that way, so he really needs a decent loan spell, like Christensen had, that's the only way I can see of anyone else coming through.
January 10, 20188 yr And you make a very fair and well-argued point, @Zeta. However, you know what football is like, it's results, results, results, all the way. There isn't any patience with top managers, let alone junior team players attempting to step up. We know that a lot of people in here and elsewhere will say something along the lines of "Well, I'd be OK if we didn't win anything for a few years as long as we bring the young 'uns through", but we all know that is bollocks for any length of time, and we also know what a toxic place the match-day thread is if we aren't winning. Players need to step in, step up and do at least as well as the seasoned international that they are replacing on EVERY opportunity, otherwise those opportunities will be limited. And that's the way it should be if you want the club to be winning things and maintaining a place in the upper echelons of both the league and Europe. I've said many times in here that getting enough points to ensure we avoid relegation and a decent-ish run in the FA Cup is ALWAYS my baseline for every season. Anything more than that, I look upon as a bonus, and the last few years have been mostly full of bonuses. I'd be more than happy to allow young players to get some time, particularly after we have 40-ish points in the bag, but, if the club took that position, I wouldn't be coming in here to see the total melt-down from the majority of the posters in here who feel entitled to be 5-0 up after 20 minutes of every game, and who cuss out their scapegoat of choice whenever that doesn't happen. It really does appear to me that, for a lot of people, they have a strong "want my cake and eat it" stance of must win, must win, must win, must use teenagers, must use teenagers, must use teenagers, my head hurts, where was I? Just look what it was like when we finished 10th, even more when we were flirting with the bottom three the season before last. I was around when we weren't first division, and I hope that I'm not around when next we get relegated, but, as they say, "it's a funny old game, Saint"
January 10, 20188 yr He looks like he has bulked up quite a bit from that video which is good to see.
January 10, 20188 yr Needs to go out on loan at a semi decent club and improve quiet a lot, as at the moment he is quiet a distance behind Willian and Pedro. First touches looks ropey, miles behind Pedro and Willian's. Lot to improve before he gets anywhere near a first team place. Edited January 10, 20188 yr by Famous CFC
