I think the farewell fittingly matched the trajectory of the career.  It started with great expectation and hope, there was success at first but then the mediocrity began to show with Liverpool's send off for their greatest ever player ending dejectedly in humbling failure.  

 

It was almost a poetic representation of SG's career rising towards Istanbul and the 06 Cup Final and then gradually petering out, a damp squib and sad reflection on what, once, was one of England's big clubs.

I do seem to recall Baxter having a history of drug dealing while he was at Everton so this particular incident shouldn't be too surprising I guess.

Gutted about Hull, really don't want us to be the team to relegate Bruce of all people. If we can't get a result against Arsenal we should just field a youth-based team since we've got nothing to play for if we can't beat Arsenal and perhaps they'll have a chance of the greatest escape ever ahead of Newcastle.

In terms of one club men I think Dean Lewington (of MK Dons) should be the next to receive  a Sky/BBC/Media love in

 

Given the fact that Lewington has won the same amount of trophies as Gerrard:  Football League Two 2008, Football League trophy 2009 , Promotion to Championship 2014/2015, 

League Two PFA team of the year 2007/2008, League One PFA team of the year 2008/2009

 

Although Lewington won the league title that will forever elude Gerrard, I look forward to next weeks Dean Lewington montage :)

That is the kind of send off frank could and should have had...and unlike Gerrard, he would have deserved it...today's game summed his career up...a lot of hype and hyperbole, but in truth, didn't really deliver

Just watched MOTD and thought they got it right. It was about 5th game, and they showed 'the slip' before the game. Lineker's interview was honest, and got an honest response.

That is the kind of send off frank could and should have had...and unlike Gerrard, he would have deserved it...today's game summed his career up...a lot of hype and hyperbole, but in truth, didn't really deliver
