Honestly on current form would have Begovic ahead of Tibo he has been dire recently.

I'm curious though as to how many actually watched him at Atletico. Most were probably just going on the hype that was created by others.

I don't really buy the whole bad defense excuse either, he needs to stop shots, I understand if were talking about corners and collecting crosses. But he's conceding all kinds of goals.

I do think he will improve and be the world beater we all want (and maybe expected) him to be, but I don't think the criticism is undeserved.

If Courtois is getting unfairly criticised then so is every other player. Just because Courtois is playing with a poor defense, it doesn't mean that he should be making the mistakes he is currently making.

 

I find it odd that you can be so critical of Costa, who has probably been our best player in the last few months, but then say we are being harsh on Courtois for his performances this season.

Noteworthy to me that Arsenal aren't going to win anything this season with Cech in goal, and as for this "worth 10 extra points" thing, well. after 29 games this season they have 52 points, and at the same juncture last season they had 54 ... 

 

Cech is an absolute legend for CFC and as a football goalkeeper. We miss his presence as a highly professional and vocal senior player for sure. I think he is on a downward curve though. Was certainly never as commanding on crosses after the Hunt incident.

 

He was going to leave after JM decided he was no longer #1 keeper, and it is to the club's credit that they allowed Cech to remain in London, where his family were settled, as a reward for his long and distinguished service.

 

Courtois is, I hope, the long term  future, and we should get behind him.

for every great save tibo has made this season he has let softish ones in, for me that then equals out as him being average, which is exactly what most of the chelsea team have been

The defense was magnitudes worse under Begovic. It was probably the worst PL defense Begovic ever had to deal with because defense was always Stoke's strength.

I think Tibo is a good GK and potentially a great one but whilst Everton's 2 goals were good, I personally believe Tibo could and should have done better!!

 

Goal 1  - I believe he should have held his ground rather than go early and the wrong way

Goal 2 - Ball through his legs

 

However in his defence maybe if could score a few at the other end no one would care if the odd one slips in!

 

I will support him every time he wears the shirt. Hope all comes good next season.

Reportedly Real Madrid offered 28 or 29 for de Gea. If there is a 30+ offer for Thibaut I say take it. We could even use a fourth of that to get Cech back

Goalkeepers have been massively undervalued, and it's only a matter of time before clubs figure that out. If Real Madrid didn't get de Gea with a reported 28-29 offer, then they're surely open to offering more for their next target.

Keepers are lower valued because they cost more via wages in the long run.
