Chelsea fans racially abuse a man on the Paris Metro

Featured Replies

What a load of bollocks, headline news on London Tonight, no murders, rapes, muggings, politics to report on today then.

Nice to see the "victims" sold the story & footage to the Sun eh.

Totally agree especially after West Ham fans were hissing at tottenham fans but yet that wasnt plastered everywhere like this. It seems like some are just waiting to film Chelsea fans saying anything close to what they deem racist. Just wish the media would treat every case the same but I know that's only a dream.

Must say I think he's actually disrespecting Chelsea here, the club and true fans should not be tarred with the same brush as those that pushed him off the train. I'll probably get flamed for this but sees to me he's milking it.

I suspect he is simply a puppet to the whims of his lawyers. It's them that are doing the milking...

Don't begrudge him not attending but previous comments from him have hinted he wants a financial payout from Chelsea for the incident.

It wasn't a nice thing for him to experience but looking for financial gain in the wrong places doesn't reflect well on him.

Think you've got a great point there. What happened was awful but the club have done everything they could and the majority of supporters have been on his side, even raising money for a trip for him to apologise.

Apparently he wants a different type of piece of paper though. Maybe one of those oversized cheques?

was pushed back by a group of Chelsea fans chanting "We're racist and that's the way we like it"

Just on a point of accuracy, that didn't actually happen, did it? I mean, the video did not show the people singing, and those who pushed him were not singing.

A minor point, but it's not that hard to report accurately.

must admit I felt the same...what happened to him was terrible...Chelsea have apologised, invited him to be their guest tonight, which he rejected and that's fine, it's his right...I don't blame him...but if it was such a terrible experience, wouldn't you do your best to move on, rather than keep talking to the press about it? Just comes across now as someone trying to get something out of the situation, which sadly dilutes the anti-racism message he should be standing for

Just had a thought, didn't Souleymane say immediately after the incident that he doesn't speak a word of English and didn't understand what was being said to him.

So other than being a nice little sound bite, what exactly does he mean by:

'I still hear the voices of those people who pushed me because of the colour of my skin"

He cannot be bought.

Who is trying to buy him?

The club owe him nothing to be fair- they are not responsible for the actions of a few drunks on a Paris Metro. It was a nice gesture and should he not want to accept then fair enough but he is coming across like a bit of a bellend now to be completely honest.

All this talk of being unable to sleep, unable to work etc etc...... he is in danger of overplaying his hand a bit. He was pushed back off a train after trying to force his way on.... not held hostage & tortured by Isis.

That man is absolutely ridiculous, the amount of tragedies that go on in the world and he's moping and moaning about all this still? What a bell end.

I was worried I was being hard but am relieved others here feel the same - he's milking it now - he wasn't thumped or hurt (except his feelings).  Yes it shouldn't have happened.  But no, he can't hold everybody involved with Chelsea responsible.  What does he want?  I'm hoping it's not financial recompense.

Chelsea are in no way liable for the actions of those idiots, so good luck to him from a legal perspective on trying to squeeze any money out of the club.

Oh he blames Chelsea alright....

"I felt truly wounded to the bottom of my heart that I really couldn't believe it," said Mr Sylla in an interview with the BBC. "Of course it's Chelsea's responsibility. It's their supporters.

"They (the fans) didn't say Paris, they said Chelsea. Chelsea should call my lawyer. And they haven't done that yet. It's their supporters. The director general of PSG has called my lawyer but Chelsea haven't contacted my lawyer."

I'm speechless!
