Chelsea vs PSG (Champions League Second Leg) 11/03/2015

I hope you read this comment tomorrow when you've calmed down and feel like a twit.

I don't need to read and comment anything.  Don't care about this lost, to be fair. I am even happy, because this is a good chance Jose to learn what he did wrong. But i am not sure he will.

Hazard, Fabregas and Diego are out. Especially the last one. He was the only one who said we were doing sh*t. And Mourinho wasn't happy. We'll see.

WTF were Cahill & Terry doing on that goal?

Just sums up what was a shambolic evening.

we're looking incredibly tired. against the better sides it has shown for weeks.

maybe a result of a small squad, lack of options jose truly trusts or a lack of rotation earlier in the season.

I can't see us regaining our fluency soon and it is going to be a fight to get over the line in the league. I still think we'll do it and hopefully in the summer we can improve.

I'm not going to use that tired excuse. Hazard looks fine so there is no reason why the others shouldn't be fine either.

I think we are just playing sh*t, it's not got anything to do with being tired in my opinion.

For the first half of the season we were playing lovely football so i don't see how you can say we have been negative for most of the season.

p

Because now he is seeing the finishing line he's going into his defensive mode. We are playing poorly in the league because of it and you cannot simply switch on and off depending on who you are playing. Football is all about momentum and we had none going in to this game.

Never been less upset after a champs league elimination than today.

I wasn't particularly upset last year, this is frustrating but it doesn't feel like 2005/2008/2009/2011, after having won it in 2012 I don't feel that same exasperation or desperation to win it, particularly when it now allows us to focus solely on our title challenge.

I'll enjoy seeing PSG get done by whoever they play next round though.

Sorry I have to say it Ramires should NEVER be a starter in a team that wants to challenge for the CL, he is a great athelete but a terrible footballer.

Yes I know he was here when we won it but we rode our luck.

In my opinion he was the correct option to start, and in that first 30 minutes when we played well he was an integral part of that.

Once Ibra was sent off and the game turned from end-to-end to them fouling us on the break then sitting with 10 men behind the ball every possession, it became the kind of game that Ramires is useless in, and that is why he was eventually hooked.

I am almost as disappointed with the reaction of our resident PSG fan who, I would hope, would have taken the victory in more good grace than he has, than I am with tonight's performance. Well I guess not every none Chelsea fan on here is a gracious as Spud.

He is the one who chose to sell Mata, De Bruyne, Schurrle, etc... and loan out Salah. He chose the players he wanted to bring in, and yet it's been the same 11 or 12 players all season when fit. They are clearly exhausted. What's the point of having these backup players if he doesn't trust to play them. Are they not good enough? Then why did we buy them?

Mata and De Bryune didn't git the system and De Bryune may be tearing it up in Germany but it's a poor league plus both those players wanted to leave. Salah and Schurrle left because they wanted to go too.

Disappointing - felt like a night PSG wanted more from the off. We won the Champions League in a season where we simply did not give up, we had to replicate that desire if we wanted to progress and we didn't.

David Luiz lost a bit of a respect from me, I've always thought he was a heart-on-sleeve and fairly honest player, but tonight it felt like he was just on a mission to get Costa sent off.

We've lost a lot of the attacking flair we had at the beginning of the season. There's too much impotus on not losing, and not over-committing. We've invited a lot of teams onto us with slender leads, and we've been punished too often from good positions.

It's difficult to identify just what it is we're doing wrong, but I think most of us would agree we're not quite "there". Perhaps it's a lack of identity. We adapt to suit the opposition, rather than impose our own style. We have so much quality in attack, we're very astute defensively, to be fair we're just on the fringe of being part of Europe's elite, but we're not quite there.

Mourinho has repeated this is a side still developing, we were 14 point from the title when he took over, and now we're in a strong position to bring a title (which, let's face it, was every Chelsea fan's main target this season). I just hope we can build on this progression next season and take our performance in Europe to the next level.

Just my thoughts, thanks for reading. Tough night, but let's react and drive for this league title. Bring on Southampton at the weekend.

Costa is worrying me too

He's been pants for ages now

He's in a no win situation, he just needs to be allowed to play the game. Luiz baiting him tonight, and yet another penalty denied was a prime example of what he faces.

jose has to take some of the blame, we are just too predictable, chasing a agame with ten minutes on comes drogba, what is the point of paying 26m for a winger and he has had about 60mins of football since january, costa needs to stop concentrating on winding up the oppo, and putting the ball in the net, fabregas is no good sitting deep the game just by passe's him, to many square passes, ivan couldn't cross the road, hazard is  a good player but will never ever be on the same level as messi, or ronaldo, he's just way to inconsistant like oscar, jose i think would turn an out and out winger into a centreback.

Tonight is a perfect example of Jose's biggest flaw as a manager. Far too much focus on seeing out a game with small edges rather than pushing on and trying to kill off the tie. This Chelsea team is just not good enough to see out a 1 goal advantage for 60+ minutes. How many times did it cost us last season, and it's just came back to haunt us again.

Ramires is a great athlete but not a great footballer. Likewise Willian and Oscar. The latter pair don't score or assist anywhere near enough given the minutes they get. I would sell all 3 in a heartbeat, given the chance to bring in others.

We were just flat-out embarrassed by a team with 10 men, who'd lost their best striker and focal point - and the worst part is - it always felt like it was coming. Poor beyond belief.

Someone needs to have a strong word with Costa. Feel for him as he hasn't been the same since his ban but that shove was f**king stupid. Oppo wouldn't try and wind him up if he didn't bite every time.

I think hazard was out of the game after the first half aside from a couple of moments. and he was walking without the ball.

against city at home we were like a boxer against the ropes in the second half and I saw that again today. I think we're struggling hugely. mental fatigue I think is also a factor.

Mata and De Bryune didn't git the system and De Bryune may be tearing it up in Germany but it's a poor league plus both those players wanted to leave. Salah and Schurrle left because they wanted to go too.

Think it's time to question the system. PSG kept Hazard quiet in the second half and Oscar + Ramires were not creative enough.
