Isn't Atletico banned from transfer/registring players until january as well? 

He's only saying this now because of the new 100% tax thing in China. If that was really his stance, he would have come out and said it in January. 

When it gets to the point when welbeck is showing you how to hold the ball up, It's time to look for other options. Poor 1st half, glimpses of quality in the second, much like the rest of team. 

it's not even that he is weak or has poor touch, It's just how inconsistent he is with it. One minute he is bringing down a raking ball with his chest, the next he is literally tackling himself. 

if he doesn't want go to China, fair enough,I don't blame him, but I think we should be bringing in another top striker whether stays or goes, if we want to compete with the best in europe. 

if we can bring in someone like aubemayang, I wouldn't have a problem selling costa to Atlético for 40 odd mil. 

hopefully his latest comment leave us in a stronger bargaining position, since that China money is looking off the table. 

If Costa stays do we get the Costa from January, it's been hard enough playing with 10 men but I'm not sure any club can do it playing in Europe and in the league.

dont see how anyone can be slating him for today, he was essentially playing against 3 defenders up top by himself all game, very RARELY got the ball to feet because our midfield was getting overrun and had to settle with aerial duels vs a 6ft 8inch german c**t every time TC would hoof it up the pitch

and yet he still managed to score. personally i felt he should of never been taken off but it is what it is.

I agree. While I do feel Costa could ha done a little bit more overall, there were times when he had little to no support in attack and the first half tactics seemed to be Luiz hoofing the ball up to Costa and see if he could outjump Mertesacker (who really made me eat my pre match words I have to admit). I felt he was a bit more fired up in the second half, and I would have liked it if Conte left him on and brought Bats on for someone else when we were chasing the game

If the Chinese club spent the 100 million or so I'm Costa, for example, they'd also have to pay 100 million into a national development fund for grassroots football. It's pretty much ensuring that Chinese players actually get developed properly and the facilities are of a good standard. I'm fairly sure that's how the new tax is working anyway

Sounds like a pretty good idea to help develop their own players that is for sure.

Frustrating to say the least, Abysmal to put it correctly.

A year down the line, people will try to show his goal as a good thing he did in a "big game", but the reality is that he was down right pisspoor despote the goal. Welbeck had better hold up play, hell, LUKAKU has a 10 times better hold up play.

I hope we cash in and buy a striker who can give us something better along with the goals. Cause Diego is just not cutting it.

 

So only chance we have of getting rid of him is if atletico stump up the cash... We missed a trick in January, we really did. 

Get a griezmann-Costa swap. Or maybe Costa-Koke?

If Atletico lose Griezmann to United, they might throw that money back at us. Let's hope that's what happens. In which case, I want him to be replaced by Aubameyang.

Sanchez to City will only happen if we let it happen. They already have Aguero, Sane, Sterling, KDB, D. Silva, B. Silva and Jesus. We have Costa, Hazard, Willian and Pedro. The need for Sanchez is far greater in our squad and we're in London, reportedly Sanchez's reason for choosing Arsenal over Liverpool. Everything is in place for us to get him if there's a chance he moves to another English club. As I said, only way Sanchez to City happens is if we let it happen.

He need to go. He gives what he have, and he will only regress since. Just like Matic. They both need to go.

He basically don`t go for air balls. Always late in the opponent penalty field. Lacking speed big time. He can`t outrun slow defender like Mertezaker, who wasn`t playing all season, thats tell a lot. His wooden touches ruin 90% ot our attacks.

All season and not a single ball taken away from enemny defender from him. Not one.

He limits our team big time. Hard to go through passes, cause he can`t catch them ....
Just sell and replace him, as well with Matic.

And everyone in the club should be tired and done with him. ALWAYS drama with him, always. We should sell him to the highest bidder. If he doesn`t want, then threat him with a bench for the rest of the season.

This is precisely my concern as well, City already signing Bernardo Silva and looking like they want to get their business done early.

United sniffing about Griezmann among others as well looking like they're going to go and get it done early.

The last thing I want is us leaving it late and having to pick off the scraps of other teams, that should NOT happen to a championship winning club. If we haven't announced anyone in the next couple of weeks or before June 1st I'll be bitterly disappointed and I don't mean new contracts for Hazard, Courtois etc. I mean brand new, big name players, statements of intent if you will.

 

As for Costa, he can go as far as I'm concerned, I've had enough, he was pish yesterday until his goal, really should have scored the 2nd with the volley it was awful close to the keeper but a decent save nonetheless.

 

Sice January he's been so far off being the top striker he can be when he's on form and it's not the first time his form has dipped dramatically throughout a season. If anyone is interested I'd look to sell him as high as possible, or offer Atleti the swap for Griezmann. They can only say no, what have we got to lose.

We should take the Griezmann money off Atletico once they get it from United. That's what a player like Costa's worth in today's market anyway.

honestly not sure how I feel about costa staying/leaving anymore, yesterday i thought he was excellent in the second half, he's a fighter, never gave up when things don't go well

but then if we keep him he might throw a hissy fit again after a while, asking to leave and become a liability on the pitch just like the past few months

Another cup final goal for Diego! So glad that Costa wants to stay! Top striker and would be very very hard to sign an upgrade on him.

Before match yesterday I was hoping that it would be the last time I'd see Costa in a Chelsea shirt. Although he had a decent second half yesterday my mind has not changed about him. As well as his terrible control and his lack of ability to play on a par with Hazard, Pedro etc and moves breaking down, I'm just sick of his antics. 

One minute he wants to stay, next minute he wants to go. We could wake up January 1st, 2018 and find out he's put in a transfer request and only wants to go to Atletico. Time to get rid of him once and for all. I've had enough of the drama. Thanks for the goals and good luck!

You kidding right ? There is nothing World Class in Costa.

And how we can be sure, the pre winter player will be back. I just think he lost form completely and there is no turning back for him.

If we give him a new contract and stay with him, first we are losing 60mln. and second we won`t be competitive in the PL and CL with him.

Im tired of his poor technique and wooden touches. We need top striker with good technique, not someone like Diego, who ruin 90% ot our attacks with his touches and passes.

He is done for Chelsea club, he need to go.
