It's not the being told he's not wanted I don't believe it's the text message bit.

Conte would do that sort of thing in person or at least in direvt dialogue I'd imagine,  he doesn't seem the type to do it another way.

Urgh. Going public now brings down his price as they know we have to sell. And drives up price of replacements - Everton have previous of dragging it out and extracting maximum price for players (Stones and Fellaini come to mind).

What reason would Costa have to come out and lie against his manager especially when he knows it's currently impossible for him to go to the only other club he'd have loved to go to?

Reckon Costa said this publicly on purpose to drive down our asking price and f**k us over one last time. Top lad.

Because we have been heavily linked with his replacement, he no longer wants to be here and was counting on a move.

I don't know what goes on in Costa's head but merely said I doubt Conte would simply send a text to one of his, players saying that as he is a classy guy and wouldn't risk a squad mutiny as it's obvious Costa is one of the teams most popular characters

Well it's deffinatly happened, my guess is conte wanted to kick him right up his fuxking arse the second he staring pissing about, but thought, well I'll keep him together, I need him, as soon as summer comes I'll fire him off to China.

 That fell through, Lukaku is all but confirmed and conte has been so irked that he has said pack your bags anyway, China or no china.

 I always stood up for Diego because there was no proof, this tells me what people have suspected all along, he is a nightmare to deal with.

Jose found it out now it seems conte has found it, if this is indeed the case my siding with him ends and he can f**k off wherever we wants, to athletico in 5 months on half wages or whoever else wants him.

It's clear that conte values harmony in the dressing room over any one player and he has said he isn't about individual players, he wants people ready for the team that take his instruction, and good for him that's what we need, let it be a message through the changing room.  

Again this tells me the Lukaku deal is done or he would never sent a text like that, I don't like him much but if he is the future I'm behind him, proven scorer is a proven scorer, we are keeping conte and hazard, that's what's important,  good days. 

It's possible the message is not a literal text but the sum total of us flogging him to China, pursuing another forward and in an end-of-season review where his January behavior and post Jan crap form was discussed.

Or smoke signals. 

Hard to see a way back but also not sure where else he'd go. PSG? For just 20 mn I'd be tempted to just keep him as a backup.

Got to say I truly respect you for coming around to this opinion especially as you've fervently defended him even recently. Many football fans don't like to admit it when they're wrong. Cheers.

I'd like to hear Conte's side of the story, I'd trust anything he says over what Diego says. But there's got to be a catalyst for this reaction, after the China move was cut off he kissed the badge and wanted to stay.

Atletico have a transfer ban as well so it's in his best interest to keep playing as first choice until at least January.

I hope he's not trying to slash his value by showing he is publicly unhappy and come January become a player who hasn't played for months.

I was telling you Costa is a big problem time after time, but people argue with me and argue with me ....

And i was the first to criticize him for playing poorly and people were jumping on me that i know nothing of the game, so we all see now .....

Another poor act from Costa to drops his price. I hope the club fines him for that interview.

So that`s surely mean Lukaku is ours. But i hope it`s not for a sum more then 50-60mln. and we should also get another striker. We won`t be okay only with Lukaku. Probably someone like Dembele from Celtic will be good.

It seem's like this is all going back to what happened in January. He wanted to move to China, we said no and dropped him for a game because his head wasn't in the right place. We told him he could go at the end of the season, he agreed and was restored to the team. From that moment his heart wasn't in it and his performances nose dived. He get's subbed in the last game of the season against Sunderland and was clearly waving goodbye to the fans. Then the new 100% tax rule is bought into the Chinese Premier League which meant the move to China was off. Costa then starts kissing the badge and saying he would only ever leave Chelsea for Atletico Madrid. Costa in my opinion has done a complete u-turn because of the move to China collapsing, but Conte is having none of it by the look's of things.

Conte has probably had plans to replace Costa since January and that won't be changing now it seem's. Costa will either have to move somewhere else or wait until January to return to Atletico Madrid. In my opinion, Costa only has himself to blame for the position he now finds himself in. 

I kind of wish we had just sold Costa in January now. We would have got a decent amount of money and Batshuayi could have gotten some game time and had more of a chance to show what he is capable of, and with his recent form, i think it's clear that he will score goals if given the chance. It's not like we would have missed Costa either, he's been terrible since this China stuff started.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing eh ? 

 

Well, no one has ever accused Diego of being the perfect professional....so why start now?

Seems like such a dick move from Costa, Antonio could've thrown him under a bus in Jan (sure, not doing so was pure pragmatism on AC's part but still) but he stuck by him, ran deflection with the press, gave him every chance at the expense of someone much hungrier and classier in the form of Bats. Appears like he's going out of his way to make things difficult at this stage.

If you have a problem with Conte, honestly you're probably a POS.

 

Good riddance.  Bring in Lukaku.
