“Basically, a decision on which player we are going to buy in the summer has been made. And we have secured a verbal agreement with the player as well as his club.”

"We have not signed a formal contract yet, and I will not reveal the player's name during the sensitive period. The club have once got the short end of the stick after our transfer target was exposed ahead of time. So we won't say his name."

Looks like it's either Auba or Costa.  We'll see.

You can just tell that he is one of those people that just does random things. You will have a room full of people just standing around being normal, and then there is Costa wandering around in his coat and football boots doing crazy things

Have to say he's frustrated the sh*t out of me at times but he's a great character and he's been superb for us overall. I actually feel if he stayed he would have the opportunity to truly go down as one of our greatest ever strikers but it looks like he's off. Hopefully we get a huge sum for him and find the right replacement.

Maybe I will be in the minority here, but I don't really agree with the "great character " comments.  His character and general behaviour has been shown in his conduct when waiting for a  conte press conference  last week (waiting with a fire extinguisher, doing pull ups,  then refusing to leave when asked),  the way he danced in his pants and pretended to shag anything near him after the title win, despite TV cameras being there (which my 5 yr old was very confused about), and now using the cup as a cock (again in front of loads of kids)  annoy me and don't help portray the club in a good light.  Comes across as immature in the extreme. Grow up Diego.

Tend to agree. He's good for 20 a year which is a hard striker to find but as a person comes across as a bit of a knob.

If he could sustain his form for an entire season he'd surely be a consistent 30 goal a season striker and one of the best in the world. All the best to him in China and hope his replacement is half as good as the in form Diego.

A loose cannon, and quite the player on his day.

He did a double handed bye bye wave to the fans when he was taken off, looks like he is definitely heading this summer.
