A great acquisition that only scored four times last season? Hmmm

Yup.

I'm sure Barca and Madrid are fearing a player who was made to play with Man Uniteds reserves as he was crap in the EPL

It looks like he's signed so why don't you try being positive and getting behind him now. Everyone else seems to be managing.

Yeah...you are right Barak, potentially not as bad, but if Remy goes without an adequate replacement, I won't be pleased. As it is, Costa, Remy, Falcao... Not too bad.

(Still, it was refreshing not having those Torresy feelings from our strikers for one whole season.)

I certainly didn't miss that feeling.

Let's hope if he signs he's not the no 9!!!

Did Falcao have a pre-season with Manchester? I think there were lots of factors that contributed to his abysmal performances for Manchester which hopefully Mourinho can rectify. Number 1 being our medical team healing him during the summer.

He joined in September so no pre-season with United. Not sure who came out of their season looking good except De Gea.

If he doesn't want to be excited by it then he doesn't have to be. We want him to do well but many (myself included) don't think he will, we have a right to that opinion.

This marks a sad day for Chelsea football club and everyone involved.

That might be overstating it a little, but please prove me wrong Falcao.

His friendship with Costa and Cuadrado could help him settle in here, and we have the best coach in the word, and we have a very capable medical staff. Still it's very hard for me to get excited about this.

Overstated a hell of a lot. It's a loan for 1 season. Let's let him kick a ball for us before saying whether it's sad day or not.

It was a sad day when we were relegated.

That was for dramatic effect. I'm not comparing this to being relegated.

Ok so Jose clearly sees something still burning brightly within Falcao, what it is I don't know, but I don't get paid what Jose does so I guess he knows best.  I still think think the likes of Solanke, Baker and Bamford could have adequately filled the #3 spot, after all its more of a subs role and the odd start against lesser teams than being the first name on the team sheet.  Yes I get it, get loaned out to a lesser EPL team and 'hopefully' get a good run of games but I still say you won't learn to play the 'Chelsea' way playing for the likes of Norwich / Bournemouth and any other team you care to mention in the bottom half of the league.  As a few posters have pointed out if Remy leaves then I hope Jose has a plan 'B' if Mr. Falcao doesn't work out. I wish him well in a blue shirt but I hope for our sakes he learned something about this league last year and realizes this is not 'tippy tappy' Spain or France..

Can't understand the negativity! Let's get behind him and give him a chance. We have nothing to lose here

I can completely understand the negativity towards this signing.

We are talking about a guy that looked like he had lost everything that made him great last season and only scored 4 goals. And if Remy ends up leaving because of it then i think this is a disastrous signing. If Remy stays i can live with it, but i still would have prefered Bamford or Solanke to take that spot in the team.

He's at the Copa America this Summer with Cuadrado. But seeing how poor Colombia were in their opening game against the mighty Venezuela, there's a good chance both Falcao and Cuadrado will get a pre-season with us.

was there in Monaco when he destroyed us, never seen an opposing team striker do that to any Chelsea team in 40+ years, truly awesome. In Jose I trust, he will revel in this project, trying to restore one of the worlds past great strikers to something approaching his best and bringing back silverware. Massive PR coup if he achieves it. he can rubbish LVG from now until hell freezes over or Sp*ds win the EPL which ever comes sooner.

Good Luck Radamal welcome to the Chels,

The amount of spoilt people in here right now.

We are lucky to have an attacking force of Diego Costa, Remy and Falcao. Name me a team in the world who has the sort of depth up front?

Regardless of his poor season last year, he was in an unstable United team. If he can give what Drogba did last season and a bit more then we are on our way to a 5th BPL title.

EDIT: If Remy does go on to leave then I will be a little more apprehensive.

Way better deal than Torres or sheva. Way better.

Clear upgrade on last seasons drogs 4 goals or not.

Will he be a starter? Will have to improve massively for that to happen and so I still don't see him as the upgrade we need to be properly competitive in cl or even against a rapidly improving arsenal.

How does that make us spoilt ? It's not like we haven't got a reason to be worried about him joining, he was woeful last season. I'm worried that him joining will push Remy to look for game time somewhere else and that he will be another flop. I'm getting a bit annoyed seeing so many strikers come here and then turning out to be a flop.

That isn't being spoilt, just worried.

I think they'll take that into account both before and after his loan. I just don't know what type of chances he'd realistically get here next season. I think at this time in his career what he needs is minutes and I think he gets at least double the number somewhere else.

I agree. Bamford needs to play regularly in order to polish his game and get valuable experience. Sitting on a Chelsea bench won't do him any good.

This marks a sad day for Chelsea football club and everyone involved.

Get a grip!

Can't say I'm thrilled with this deal but let's get some perspective.

Jeez didn't you read the posts after that one? I said it was for dramatic effect, I'm only joking about it.

Let's get some perspective indeed.

Yap -  I mean all of a sudden getting relegated or fearing for the existence of the  club seems to pale in to comparison

No one wants Remy to go..... but Falcao can still be the legend he is if given a proper run in a stable team. José will be well aware of the torres and sheva history and I dont see this happening again. He is a superstar, a sleeping giant....José will awaken him wait and see

BBC and The Guardian also reporting an agreement has been reached.

Possibly going to be made official by the end of the week.

I suppose at the end of the day with Drogba leaving on a free we've acted pretty swiftly to secure a replacement.

Once this is all tied up it's going to be a case of squad management, ensuring that we agree player sales to balance any additional signings.
