I will keep hoping we won't sign him until it's officialy confirmed. I think Traore would be a far better third choice striker for us, it would not cost us anything and his value would sky rocket with some games+goals.

Unless Jose' wields some magic this deal is a total waste of money that could have been spent elsewhere...180+ K a week you have got to be joking for a third line striker...what are we paying for? must be the name because it sure as hell isn't the goals.

I was honestly hoping after the Copa America we would have moved on and left this one. I mean Falcao had a terrible outing and looked every bit of the flop he was last season and beyond.

This must be a shirt selling ploy to boost the coffers…although 150 odd k a week will nullify that I’d have thought.

You can't tell me this is a money grab on the part of him and his agent...come on...as a one time World class striker he settles to be a 3rd choice (unless there is something in the deal that makes him 2nd choice and Remy is leaving)...he clearly has no confidence in himself, so if he hasn't why the f**k should we?

I do too but the fact of the matter is that this game at this level is about seconds or fractions of seconds and reactions, it's fine margins from even a Championship player to a Prem / World class player with some extra technical ability thrown in also.  What made, Sheva, Torres world class was the reaction and pace they had to get away from defenders or create a small space for themselves, the same can be said with Falcao but they all lost it after their operations; what we are getting is not the 'real deal' but a shadow of the player he once was....at 29 it could be a big big gamble especially for the money that is reportedly in this deal.

He will never be the player he was when he scored 3 against us, that much is certain.

I don't see what he can offer other than experience which Costa and Remy have plenty of too while they still can find the net to go with that.

I'm not in favour of obtaining him but if he does play for us as the media is reporting then I'll support him 100% without question!

Best thing he could do is prove his critics wrong! Crazy to think how times have changed considering he was one of the best strikers in the world two years ago but I suppose knee injuries and loss of confidence has really affected him.

Reports in France are claiming that Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic is currently in Monaco, and set to undergo a medical ahead of a season-long loan swap. Pasalic signed with Chelsea last summer, before heading on loan to La Liga side Elche, where he impressed.

Good for Pasalic and for Chelsea...I don't mean Falcao here either. We need our loanees to play in a proper league.

He should have stayed there, made a ton of progress, the manager liked him and the league is a great one to improve in.

Now he has to play in France just so we can get that crooked mercenary in.

This is a brilliant move for us. Worst case he sucks and we use a young player, Solanke or Bamford, since hes only on loan. Best case he scores off the bench and when Costa needs rest. 15 goals and hes well worth the money. The alternative is we play Bamford or Solanke, who are unproven in the PL, in his place. If he flops we are down to those two anyway, if hes a hit, we get a legit backup for Costa.

They might be unproven but Falcao is a proven flop in the EPL.

La Liga might be better than the French league, but they are totally different so it makes sense to move him there, get an idea of the difference in style when facing a French or Spanish team.
