According to Spain's most reliable newspaper El Confidential, Chelsea are after French winger, Antoine Griezmann for just £22m due to his release clause.

Would absolutely love him here, thoughts?

Griezmann is clearly brilliant, a magnificent dribbler with electric pace who has a great goalscoring record this season. He would be a fantastic signing, but it doesn't seem particularly realistic.

That makes no sense, I refuse to believe that he would be available for as little as £22m. 

should have bought him before atletico did. he is a very good player, but doubt we'll pay so much money for him considering we've recently bought cuadrado. Only way i can see us buying him is if we plan to sell salah for 18-20 million and then keep cuadrado as a back up to griezmann. A central midfielder is almost a no brainer in the summer, but griezmann would be a brilliant signing as well, and could well be our own alexis sanchez (not including hazard). Considering the pressure needs to be taken off of hazard a little bit, this would be a perfect signing.

Yup, we should have bought him before Atleti did. He's too good a player for 26m pounds. Closest thing to Neymar in terms of finishing and movement.

 

But I dun't see how we'll buy him since we've bought Cuadrado for 26m.

Griezmann (£24 million) & Sanchez (£35 million) vs Willian (£32 million) & Cuadrado (£27 million). Oh, hindsight is a wonderful thing, and as much as Willian has done a fantastic job for us, i believe if we would have had one of the former two (namely Sanchez) this league would have been sewn up by January.

Either of Griezmann and Lacazette would be good transfers. Both of them can be used in several positions in addition to beeing good backups for Costa. We won't find that level of quality that wants to only be backup striker. Remy and Drogba have played around 40% so far this season compared to Costa. Remy also seems to be injured whenever he is needed. 

Rumours along the lines of "X Club are after X Player" with no facts or "X club are monitoring X player's situation" etc rarely have anything in them. The report normally includes several clubs as well to maximise their chances of getting it right.

yes yes yes yes. Hazard on the wing and Griezmann on the other is what I wanted since the summer. Would be incredible and even if it's unlikely, I'd hope we would try.

A trio of griezmann, hazard and costa combined would reward something like 70 goals in a season. We were crazy not to go in for him before. If we have a chance this summer its a no brainer.

Griezmann and Koke please. Just sounds too unrealistic though.

No he was bought for €30m in the summer (£26m). So I cant see how his current release clause would be less than what Atletico paid for him. The rumour doesn't make sense. He's a lot more likely to be valued at £35m+

The mail had the clause at 40 mil Eur

If these proposed transfer bans are true, then Atletico may need to sell and Griezmann or Koke could end up leaving.

It would be strange if we were now in for him given we have just spent £27 million on a replacement for Schurrle.
