UEFA set to relax FFP

Featured Replies

Does that mean QPR aren't being sent to the Conference.

f**k it.

QPR are in trouble with the league, not UEFA. They failed FA's FFP rules, which is quite the achievement as they are very lenient.

City getting ready for a spending spree in the summer.Uefa useless as usual, the teams with money can evade everything.

They should spend less money on players and more on actors to fill their stadium.

I'll direct. Your motivation guys is that you're insanely jealous of your neighbours which means you'll always be small time. And please, please try and stay for the full 90 minutes.

That's not true though, is it ? Out of all the clubs which had to comply (and there was a large number), not many failed.

Man city and PSG failed, and theyve still spent loads since.

They aren't getting rid of it. They will make the punishments less severe but it is still in their interest to keep the elite clubs elite and to screw the rest.

They may as well get rid of it. If all it takes is a little bit of moaning from PSG for them to change how it works then there isn't really any point in it existing.

You just know that if Real Madrid or Barcelona get into trouble they will just scrap the whole thing.

You know what ? this has kind of pissed me off a bit. We are the one club that has been taking FFP seriously, yet in the French press we are the ones being moaned at because we can buy players and PSG can't. The reason why we can buy players is because we have balanced the books and sold players on for a good amount of money. PSG just pay a ridiculous amount of money on players ( David Luiz £50 miilion ) and give those players really high wages again and again.

Now, because of all of the moaning, UEFA are set to be more relaxed on the rule. How about you just stick to the rule ? if the football clubs can't stand by that rule then that is their problem.

As expected, FFP isn't going to work. If they change things just because a few clubs are getting annoyed then they may as well just scrap the whole thing.

Absolutely agree....what a Fu**ing shambles UEFA are...Platini is a complete cretin

To be fair to Platini (who I really do not like), he did make the comment that if PSG were not owned by the Qataris and, instead, they invested in AC Milan then PSG would probably be arguing that FFP is not tough enough.

I suspect the relaxation is more to do with the realisation that FFP is borderline illegal in some countries and possibly illegal in others in that it unfairly restricts some basic principles in fair trade. The lawyer who won the Bosman case is one of a number who are contesting FFP too.

The problem I have with FFP is that it just acts as a shield to an old boys network of top European clubs and makes it impossible for smaller clubs to break through. Chelsea would not be the force in football that they are now if FFP was in play in 2004. My view is that , if there is a rich benefactor willing to dump their money into a club, then they should be able to do so - just like they can spend their money in any other business they choose (look at the number of startups that are, or were, loss making for several years - significantly so in some cases. Google for example). What I like about FFP is that it enforces business discipline and stops the train from running out of control - without it,  the football bubble would inevitably burst and we would see what happened in Italy happen everywhere else, all at the same time.

Stay? They should try arrive for the first half first

QPR are in trouble with the league, not UEFA. They failed FA's FFP rules, which is quite the achievement as they are very lenient.

They failed the FL version of FFP which has since been amended they tried to get round things, and still are using the argument, that a cash injection of £60 million from the owner counts as income whereas the rules that were in place state they don't. The dispute into this are still at the very earliest stages and no resolution would be achieved through the courts before August hence the reason the FL won't refuse QPR entry

Don't forget that's the PL version of FFP is still very much in place and with it a wage cap. We are fast approaching the second of the three year reporting period and the third will quickly follow based on projections as opposed to actuals with a target date of Spring 2016for the first round of sanctions.

Apparently the new rule is that you can blow your budget as long as your sugar daddy covers the shortfall, and its not a loan, it has to go in to the books as revenue. I guess the question is what was FFP brought in for. if it was to stop teams like Pompy going bust then maybe it still works, if however it was to protect Europes elite clubes, it seems the joining of PSG to the sugar daddy party has changed platini's mind some what . I can tell you this, there was no way they where going to pass it this season.

So ffp is removed the season after English clubs get a sh*t load of TV money, I'm sure thats just a coincidence.

Now it all begins to make sense....

Paris St-Germain have replaced Manchester City as the best paid sports team in the world.

A survey by the Sporting Intelligence website  has revealed the Ligue 1 champions have an average first-team salary of £101,898 per week.

City topped the poll last year but their average of £96,445 has seen them fall to third place behind Real Madrid.

Manchester United are sixth in the list, Chelsea are eighth, Arsenal are at 10 and Liverpool come in at 14.

apparently its all down to the Milan clubs according to the Daily Fail, my take on the read-

the liker of underage brasses and ex Italian PM- Silvio Berlusconi was all up for it when the likes of Roman  were

'doping' footy with personal fortunes and thus able to compete with AC in the CL when they were still a top team, roll on a few years Senor B wants out but cannot flog

the team to a potential buyer as the amount of dosh needed to bring in top top players to compete in the CL  is 'illegal'

under current FFP regs.  Step in Platini and reverse the policy, allowing the spending to begin again. Ironically Roman after

spunking millions was a supporter of FFP, as seen by Chelsea's compliance and Jose's public comments to dock City points.

So with the new TV dosh and the easing of FFP penalties expect a lot of spending in the years to come. Which can only be good

for Raheem sterling this summer.

You just know that if Real Madrid or Barcelona get into trouble they will just scrap the whole thing.

Would Barca and Real have a big issue complying with FFP, if a fairer La Liga TV deal is established?

I'm wondering what did UEFA do with the fine they collected from City, PSG etc, spent on Charity or retire fund? I still don't understand how these work, as long as someone has a plan to turn deficit into profit in 3 years, they could spend as much as he wants?
