Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2015/2016

I'm also not too worried about United just yet, Depay seems to be drawing a lot of hype for god knows what reason, when it seems for every Robben or Pires there are dozens of Cuadrado's and Nani's.

I'm always skeptical about defenders coming from La Liga so Ramos doesn't particularly frighten me either. Can't say I know anything about the Darmian bloke though.

Not bothered by Bastian to United. Injury-prone and getting old so he's going to struggle here is my prediciton.
If they get Schneiderlin he will be a better buy for them though.

Interesting that a lot of you are not overwhelmed my Bastian to United. It seems like most United fans aren't either - probably to do with age and injury issues, as well as our experience with Falcao last season. I'm ecstatic though, he is a proven top quality player who is not as injury prone as some are making out and the main reason he left Bayern is because of a falling out with Pep, rather than that he was deemed no longer good enough.

If we can get both him and Schneiderlin I think a midfield three of those two plus Herrera/Mata would be in the top two in the league, easily. That's a big deal for us considering only a few years ago our midfield contained Anderson - Cleverley.

Beautiful sight.

Schneiderlin and Schweini would be a great duo, they'll do wonders for our midfield and now Rooney can stay upfront. I agree he's not injury prone but he's just had 2 injuries at a short space of time that's all. It's incredible how much that tune is overplayed. Just the type of character/leader we needed in our team. Our team is quite thin on Champions League experience and there's no better addition we could have had than Schweini. So excited.

First Cech and now Schweini. Two Chelsea legends moving to rivals in one window.

In terms of leadership, experience and shirt sales he's perfect. Aside from that, I don't think it's a great signing. Good yes, but guarantees a top 2 finish? Errr no.

Still believe he is a class player, and will improve United a lot for a few seasons.

If city and United pull off what they are rumoured to be pulling off, then we will have a real fight on our hands this year for domestic trophies.

KHR confirmed Pep was not the reason Schweini left, he's a great player and pretty much played when he was fit bit sadly that was a rare occasion.

United confirm Bastian Schweinstieger.

They're getting some very good business done very early on. Louis Van Gaal isn't f**king around. We better get our sh*t together.

It's becoming a bit of a joke now, apart from city who are about to waste money on sterling and Delph, all the teams around us are strengthening and I don't think signing a 3rd striker and a back up goalkeeper can be called strengthening. If he's confident enough in the current group then fair enough but I think we just need a bit more quality to succeed in Europe also

Nice to see schweinstieger in the premier league. He would of been alot better a couple of years back im sure but german midfielders tend to settle well over here. He knows van gaal well which is a bonus. If he stays fit then he can only be a good signing for them. Poor guy will be having flashbacks when he plays us though.

Man utd strengthing significantly.

Arsenal strengthed significantly.

We've signed Falcao.

Not good so far, after such a positive way we did things last summer.

Then again, we did a fantastic job last summer while United especially fecked up. So we don't really need that much.
I still expect us to pull a world-class player out of the hat before august 31st though. Be it Isco or Griezmann or one of those.

Us not buying any midfielders as of yet is a great sign for a certain RLC aswell. Who everyone wants to get a proper chance and if we bought Pogba or something like that it wouldn't happen.

Fingers crossed we do some business soon, time tells that you can't stand still. You have to improve your squad and keep the right players in order to maintain success, something we failed to do in 2010-11.

You're still miles ahead of both United and Arsenal. There's no spine to either team as of yet.

United are lacking a commanding center back and  there's no real cover upfront because Van Persie and Falcao are gone.

Arsenal are lacking a proper striker and there's no real quality in the market (Giroud lol), a midfielder because if Coquelin is out they're stuck with Flamini/Arteta and they need to replace Mertesacker.

City on the other hand have made their intentions clear by signing the magnificent duo of Delph/Sterling...

Looks like Delph has turned down City  :laugh2:  :laugh2:  :laugh2:

Aston Villa captain Fabian Delph has confirmed he will be remaining at the club and leading the team into the new season.

He said: "I'm aware there has been intense media speculation surrounding my future in the last 24 hours and I want to set the record straight.

"I'm not leaving. I'm staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the season and captaining this great football club."

I think Delph has made the right choice for his career. I think the only reason why City were interested was because they need to add some homegrown players, i don't think Delph would have been a regular starter for them.
