Sorry did I convey anger? Cech has joined a team with a manager that counts 4th place as a trophy and clearly now Petr sadly is joined the Gooners mindset and counting some training match in Singapore as part of a trophy haul. Just surprised there isn't an instagram posted of it.

No, not your post... but I've read there was so much anger towards him from Chelsea fans when he decided to move to Arse. Of course it's not funny when you see an opposition team get strengthened and especially not when the player comes from your team. But a player of his calibre aint supposed to sit on the bench.

I think it's fair to say Sturridge, and possibly boyata, but when mansour took over in 2008, richards was already pushing on to 100 appearances, so he had already been interegrated. Hart had already started to establish himself as the number 1.

Adam johnson cost 11m, and had played nearly 100 games for sunderland.

I don't think they are any better than us at integrating young players, mceachran and bertrand have made around the same appearances as boyata, and both of us saw enough in Sturridge to play him.

I'm not sure whether Roberts will get much of a chance there, Sinclair, rodwell, and johnson all struggled so history is against him, although there does seem to be more of a focus on them playing English players at the moment.

They have slowed down since the takeover, no denying that. They brought in higher caliber players to the first team and have had to put money into their academy to make sure the players coming through can reach that standard.

I think he will with Navas getting older and not being good enough to be a consistent first team player anyway. He'll probably spend a year developing, playing now and then seeing as they have Sterling now but I would expect him to be playing for them within the next few years if he develops the way people think he will.

Those aren't very good examples. Sinclair was given chances when he signed but was awful and chose to sit on the bench and collect his paycheck, Rodwell played almost every game he was fit for...the problem was he was hardly ever fit and Johnson was a first team regular even though his performances didn't warrant it.

All that history suggests to me is that you will be a fair amount of chances, even if you are awful.

To be fair, didn't Sturbridge also leave MCFC due to a lack of first team opportunities?

He was playing a lot the season he left, he wanted wages matching those of a first team regular which at the time was absurd for City considering he hadn't proved much so he ran down his contract and joined us.

I don't get it, what is Brendan Rodgers planning to do with all his strikers. He has Sturridge, Balotelli, Origi, Borini, Ings, Firmino, Lambert and now seems like Benteke is Liverpool player.

Firmino isn't a striker. Sturridge is permanently injured. The rest aren't good enough.

Weird signing for City is Roberts. Don't get that one. Someone care to explain who he is and why City would want to sign him?

Very highly rated in the Fulham youth academy. He's been linked to a lot of the other top teams too and has a lot of potential. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11679/9917796/we-find-out-more-about-manchester-citys-new-signing-patrick-roberts

Why are City buying him? He's English. They'd have bought Bebe if they thought he'd count towards their homegrown/English quota.

First, welcome to our forum.  There are all kinds on here, and in no way am I going to vouch for everyone and say that we're all sound, because that's not true.  Like you said, you know some Man Utd fans that are hardly the brightest either.  I think a lot of that comes from recent success (Abramovich Era, expansion of a Global brand) and it is something that Man Utd have already gone through - remember Viz posting a map of England asking Man Utd fans to show where Manchester actually was?

I think that there is a begrudging respect towards Man Utd on here, even if we don't really like you there's not as much animosity as there is towards Spurs, Arsenal, and recently Liverpool.  Arsenal are quickly becoming the "Scousers of London," with their delusions of grandeur.  There is even respect between LVG and Jose, so the games never really have that same bight to them like there was in the CL games between us and Liverpool - how dare we upset their precious Rafa?

Anyway, on to your post about Cech, and this is why I highlighted the newer members.  It hurts when you lose a player to a rival, but I completely understand why Cech wanted to leave, and why he wanted to keep his family in London.  For Arsenal it's a huge signing, for us I don't think it hurts us as a team as much, especially with the signing of Begovic.  However, some people live too much in the now, and when a player leaves it smarts more than others (I was personally more upset we sold Cudicini to Spurs).  That's why people have a go at Cech, like they did at Lampard, and I personally don't understand it.  Lampard went for a season to City, and now he's off to the MLS.  Sure, it hurt, he's my favorite Chelsea player - but, at no time was I saying he was no longer a legend.  Just as I still claim that if we ever built another statue outside of Stamford Bridge, it should include both Cech and Lampard (and Terry, Drogba, and Cole).

Anyway, welcome.  I hope you stick around.  I think it's going to be a hell of a season between us and you, so let the banter begin.  Just don't resort to the Juvenile pish that we see other opposition fans pull out when their season starts slipping, or in the run up to head - to - head games.

If Pogba and Bale are worth £70m upwards, Muller is easily worth that too.

The sort of player who can be relied upon for the big occasions. Really rate him, always impresses me whenever I see him play.

25 years old and one of the best players in the world who's won everything, and I mean everything.

Guaranteed goals as well.

You're not going to get him cheap.
