Urgh, what a comparison.

The Cristiano Ronaldo of opening-day performances - great potential, plenty of promise and decent end product, but still room for improvement.

You scored 7 out of 10

I got 5 out of 10.

Ashamed to say I got the Chelsea one wrong... Oooops.

I got the Chelsea one wrong as well. Embarrassing.

A different way of punishing fans. I wonder if if would happen here.

1860 Munich fans face Bayern Munich shopping trip or jail

"I wanted to show that football is football and not a battlefield."

These are the words of judge Karin Jung, who gave two 1860 Munich fans the choice to buy Bayern merchandise for a fan they attacked - or spend 15 months in jail.

The defendants, who refused to name a third person involved when they ripped the jacket, shirt and straw hat off the Bayern fan last year, opted for the pride-swallowing trip to the rival club store.

"I thought about what would be really painful to them, and doing something like this really bothers this type of people," Jung - who got the victim's consent for the quirky sentence - told Bild newspaper.

This was no cheap shopping trip though as according to their lawyer, the accused parted with around £350 each in compensation as well as handing over a Bayern hat, scarf and jersey in court.

Sake!

You've had a nightmare. You’re the Scott Carson of opening-day performances. The keeper’s early error against Chelsea in 2010 led to his West Brom side suffering the biggest opening-day defeat in Premier League history - 6-0. You know how he feels, don’t you?

You scored 3 out of 10

Me too :-(

I got the first three right too...

Me as well.  They weren't exactly common knowledge were they?

The Nicklas Bendtner of opening-day performances - much-hyped and occasional signs of brilliance, but ultimately a bit of a let-down

You scored 4 out of 10

No. Not at all. I had completely forgotten quite a few of the players mentioned tbh.

Question 1 was I think the only one I was sure about.

I was sure of the Chelsea one, I think it was against Liverpool.

But I got Q1 wrong. Only when I saw the answer, do I remember the day, and whoever on TV saying xxxxxx has just made history by scoring the first goal.

(Avoiding spoilers)

Even with Delph fit they're just one injury away from looking pretty stretched in the middle with a 433.

I really do think Milner was a massive loss for them.

I think Milner is a big loss too. He came through for them in a number of games late on. Scoring goals to win them important points.

Damn Messi, I wonder how many games is he going to get suspended? I already read somewhere it was provoked, a moment of madness and all should be forgiven. Imagine one of our player did that, probably the whole club will get suspended for a season.

Jack Wilshere really is made of glass, isn't he? Broke his ankle in training and is out for another 2 months.

The most injury-hit player since Hargreaves, surely?

Well, Bendtner scored a brilliant goal and a perfect penalty in his last game... but even a damaged clock is correct twice a day ;)

Just found this gem...

This made me Chuckle.

New football sponsors for the coming season:

Arsenal - Bang & Olufsen (looks stylish, sounds foreign and fancy but finished product lacking).

Aston Villa - Nuts magazine (the manager is a bit of a lad).

Bournemouth - Saga Holidays (useful when planning a visit to the seaside).

Chelsea - Facebook (massive company but only formed in 2004).

Crystal Palace - Marshall Amps (popular enough, and they make a lot of noise).

Everton - Pepsi (big name, but most people prefer their rivals).

Leicester - Babestation (because of ex-manager Nigel Pearson's son and some of his team-mates' antics on the end of season tour to Thailand).

Liverpool - Amstrad (big in the 80s and not likely to make any sort of comeback anytime soon).

Man City - Mr Kipling (so Yaya Toure always has cake).

Man United - Apple (market leaders for a long time but have been a bit dodgy since their leader departed).

Newcastle - Ryanair (their customers are always complaining, a match made in heaven).

Norwich - Blossom Hill wine (inspiring Delia Smith since the 1990s).

Southampton - DFS (they've always got a sale on, but only in the Liverpool branch).

Stoke - NHS dentists (you never look forward to it, but you know you have to go and visit them once a year).

Sunderland - Wimpy (not the most appetising meal but still around).

Swansea - Megabus (great value for long trips up and down the country).

Tottenham - Mercedes Benz (new model every season but plummets in value at the turn of the year).

Watford - Fiat (dodgy product, and run by Italians).

West Brom - Thomas Cook (likely to start their holidays in January).

West Ham - Hubba Bubba (good for blowing bubbles but leave a nasty taste in your mouth).

Stange how Wilshere is injured again, after a summer holiday, again, and will be out for 6-8 weeks, again. Almost as if its not an actual injury...again...

Unfortunately I think the Wilshere blow could be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal. They need a much better backup DM than Arteta or Flamini and this might force them into the market. Granted most of the good DM prospects have already gone but pretty much anything Wenger can find will be an improvement on those two.
