I'm not saying newer = gloryhunting Abramovich era bandwagon fans.

Proper has nothing to do with attending games, anybody who uses that as a criteria is a moron.

I'm saying that you should never forget where you've come from and even newer Chelsea fans purely because of age should take it upon themselves to learn it, then people wouldn't hurl what they think are insults towards other clubs.

Any Chelsea fan dismissing other clubs as "feeder clubs" or "f**k off he doesn't want to play for a relegation team" are no better than any Liverpool fan banging on about "no history".

i feel a bit bad for that bluedylan fella.

yes he could have perhaps phrased his posts a little more.... sensitively, but fundamentally he seems / seemed like an alright old bean.

im not so sure everton are going to buckle on this one. if they do, they will look like c*nts, and the message thus far has been fairly clear. can they undermine the manager like that, after saying post match last night that they would reject his transfer request? could potentially be suicide from a management and stability perspective.

fully expecting a doing for being "negative", but if everton reject his transfer request then in my opinion, its over.

There's a genuinely sound group of Chelsea fans who've been there through thick and thin and seen the rise and fall, and take a more sanguine, longterm perspective, and who generally treat other people and clubs with respect. And then there's the others....who cheapen the rest of you by association.

The vast majority of you have just confirmed the suspicions that most people have about the Chelsea fanbase, and the whole club.

It's not remotely welcoming or tolerant of opposing fans (or at least it hasn't been in this thread) by the way. Apart from a few calmer posters who have been happy to have a reasonable chat, loads of people just pop in here, abuse Everton or Everton fans or Martinez and leave it at that.

So what's your definition of "sound" I wonder? Mine would incude not calling a player who's just handed in a transfer request a f**king rat.

Contrast this with Chelsea fans treatment of the likes of Frank Lampard, Petr Cech, Juan Mata. Unlike your neighbours across Stanley Park, we as a fanbase don't go in for shirtburning either.

Makes me laiugh when scousers talk about "class" and "respect". Like the famous scouse sense of humour it's very much a one way thing. Scousers as a breed demand respect while showing very little. They love a laugh as long as it's not directed their way. Oh look, here I am generalsiing. Nasty habit that.

Let's go back to hurling abuse at Martinez shall we? Martinez has taken any number of opportunities to have a sly dig, whether it be about "the way other clubs do busines" or that the "authorities" have somehow failed to take action against nasty old Chelsea for having the temerity to submit a bid during the transfer window.

Martinez doesn't even "respect" our right to bid for one of his players.

Similarly with this crap about "protecting" young players.. because the authorities won't. Say what? Where was the protection for Stones when Everton bought him from Barnsley? Or for Rooney when Man U came calling. These examples don't count though do, they. Because in neither case were nasty old Chelsea involved.

The window is open. We make a bid. Everton tiurn it down. So we make another, higher bid. Everton turn it down. We have just as much right to submit a bid as Everton do to turn it down. That's how it works. All this garbage about "the authorities" hinting at tapping up and malpractice is delflection at best, rabble rousing at worst.

And the tragedy is that Everton fans en f**king mass are apparently dense enough to fall for this crap

Stones has put in a transfer request, which in some parallel universe means hes now less likely to move. Figure that one out.

Allied to the fact Martinez has said what he's been saying all along.

Hmm

The deal is off.

Just can't see it happening.

Martinez wouldn't have said Kenwright wouldn't sell unless he's been assured by his boss.

It's that simple.

I thought so too.

Can't see him wanting to stay after being abused by his own fans though. That will have an impact.

Unless of course Martinez is an idiot...........

the deal could still be on.

And I'm beginning to type like you!

I can understand why Everton won't sell, but the damage is done now, Stones wants to go and Everton fans have turned on him, what is the point in holding him hostage? Neutrals are saying how they respect Martinez and Everton for their actions, but they are keeping a player against his will and potentially ruining his dream, nice work.

Watching the video. You can see Stones look directly at the guy abusing him.

If he had any doubt about leaving I'd assume that removes it. He will be knocking on the chairman's door and Martinez won't have a say in the matter.

Not really, as I said earlier it could easily be him saying that to cover his own arse.

This is how I'm seeing it at the moment. Question is though will we wait til jan/summer or is there an alternative lined up.

I'm actually waiting for what Jose has to say about this in his pre-match press conference tomorrow (I think it's probably tomorrow). I think that will be the best indicator of what we plan to do. Either we push on and try to get this done or we just let it die. Either way, I am just getting really tired of this sh*t.....but I CANT STOP MYSELF. I think I need an intervention or something.

I agree with everything you say up until his value will go up even more if he has a good season.

The only way I see it going up is if he has such a great season that RM and or Barca get interested and lets face it that would never happen why would they pay a ridiculously inflated fee because a player is English.

Man City have Kompany, Otamendi and Mangala all better than Stones might want someone young to bring through but Mangala already covers that.

Man U have Smalling, Jones, Blind, Rojo and Evans kind of stacked with average young defenders who have supposed amazing potential not sure they be able to get another average young defender without selling a couple the also have the likes of Blackett and McNair they might want to bring through.

Arsenal would probably want him but would Wenger really spend a lot of money on a CB very unlikely.

So really who is there to contend? who really wants to pay £40m+ for him if he's still error prone at the end of the season.

In my eye's his value only goes down from here he's wished to leave and will again in January and next Summer, he would currently be 4th if not 5th in our pecking order behind Terry, Zouma, Cahill and maybe even Ivanovic so the need to get him now just isn't there so we don't need to pay through the nose and yes we are buying for the future, but all that means is that we needed to turn his head, make him feel wanted here and that Chelsea is where he wants to come, which we have. Everton are in a position now where they have to sell in my eyes otherwise they will have an unhappy player for the rest of his career, as I don't see them wanted to sell for any less in January or next year and he isn't worth what Everton want, can they really turn down £30m to improve their pretty poor squad which is severely lacking in quality depth I think not.

What I hope will happen/ think should happen is that we agree with Evertton to sign him in Janurary or next window so they have more time to find a replacement, Everton don't screw over there defense by selling late in the window, Stones still gets a lot of game time and should still be motivated as I'd imagine he'd want to play at the Euro's and Chelsea have acquired the future prospect they want. To me this suits all parties and is the best solution.

Same. His value is never going up after this. Even if there is another suitor clubs now know he wants out. Everton may get away with holding onto him once but they wont be able to do it a second time. This has Luka Modric written all over it
