Sad thing is that I can't really see who will improve the squad. Stones will add some depth and future player but apart from that,who else is there? Bale, Griezeman, Pogba and fantasy players aren't coming.

Surely we can't go into the season with the current squad plus Baba and Stones?

Doesnt have to be world beaters. Said earlier, id even take Ki from Swansea to add some creativity in midfield. Stones for CB would be a good move if we do it.

In all seriousness, something needs to happen or we could find ourselves battling it our with liverpool and tottenham. Absolutely nothing in pre-season or these 2 premier league games suggests we will be challenging for the title!

Maybe Jose will drop jt and put brana with cahill.

The other consolation is our real fans are the best in the country, I'd rather lose with you lot than win with those horrible Goonie plebs, a bunch of scouser weirdos or any sort of cheesy mancunian, remember I was a school boy in the 90's in London, wasn't easy being a chelsea fan but we had a swagger about us and in context of those days we are one of the top teams in the world, sometimes something has to break before you rebuild it, our defence is ageing JT wasn't going to last forever, we lost our legend in MF, it's a new squad, we will get there and we have the best manager in the world, if anyone is entitles to some slack on a bad day it's Jose, even if we pay 40 mil for stones we will get him now, Roman is a true supporter, he hates to lose

With no new signings the competition for places should be the same as last year, yes? Therefore our lack of signings cannot be the answer to the question - why have our top players not shown up for the first two weeks of the season? 

Because at the end of last season we decided to go on an end of season tour instead of taking the much needed rest top athletes require after a hard season. The knock on effect was we had a shorter than normal pre season and again taking us on a nonsense tour.We will improve but it may take a few weeks to get our touch back. We have become a brand to make money, forgetting that making money relies on the team winning.

I would be concerned, Utd, Citeh, Arsenal, all started better than us, Liverfool win tomorrow, and we are already playing catch up, i think we have regressed to their standard, and they have improved their squads,........could be a long winter and spring?

Said it all Summer you can't go into the next season without improving your side, we did it in 2010-11 and look what happened. You'd think we'd learn.

We have to mate vicious circle, no brand, less profit, less players in, it's a delicate balance, we might have taken on too much..would have been better if we f**ked off ffp like city and psg and got some world beaters, that would have pushed us to the very top and the brand would have built as an effect

City are the only ones who can really lay claim to that. We may have 6 points as well if we played Villa and Spurs. Or West Ham and Palace.
