All in all, i really felt Jose used this to get his board to sign (PAY - I know times our tough in Russia due to Sanctions and currency devaluations! But come on Roman.... Step u!! ) for new players!!

The JT comment proves we are in the proverbial Jose's 3rd season.

Why doesn't Jose just say the better team won and we got spanked rather that all the crap he has been spewing out this week.....well at least he admits JT is slower than Zouma..

The only reasonable solution with the players we have is to drop the holy cows to the bench or from the team all together (Terry, Ivanovic, Willian, Ramires, maybe even Costa) and give the new guys a runout. My team for the next game:

Matic - Fabregas (or Mikel)

Moses - Hazard - Kennedy

Remy (or Traore)

Courtois is back for the next game. I don't think it's "reasonable" to drop Costa for our next game away to West Brom, or to switch 5 (or 6) players as you suggest. That seems a bit knee-jerk. Ivanovic is definitely under pressure, though.

 

As a separate point, I think it's unlikely that Jose will select Matic--Fabregas in the two for our next big away fixture. I guess he'll opt for Matic--Zouma or Matic--Mikel.

I'm not so sure. I'd also like to add Messi, Bale and Reus. That Aguero chap seems quite useful, so let's get him, too, just to be on the safe side.

I don't understand people who are blaming our lacklustre performance on our failure to sign new players.

This could explain why we haven't improved like other teams clearly have, but surely it can't explain why we have regressed?

With no new influx we should at worst be at the same level with that logic, but we're not.

The individual class from Hazard, Cesc, Costa etc. is lacking, and I'm hoping they can find it sooner rather than later.

A lack of new signings, means no competition for places, which leads to complacency. Add the fact we think we can win the title by showing up for the season 2 weeks late, and all of sudden there is talks of a crisis.

Terry seems already to have been dropped, but I guess he can stay.

Willian, Cuadrado and Ramires have no business in the first team, so these players need to be replaced for the next game. OK, lets stick with most of the assured players (Hazard, Fabregas, Costa), but Moses for one really deserves to get a run out. I also believe Remy looked much more sharper in preseason than both Falcao and Costa.

not shot, but his legs are definitely gone. he definitely prevents us from playing a more (not much, but  a little more) attacking game, so it's no wonder we played a little more open 2nd half. i think this season is certainly his last, but we have no one as back up barring zouma.
