Bertrand Traore

Featured Replies

He's still growing physically so it's premature to worry about his physique. I agree that he doesn't seem to have a large frame genetically, but he's not as scrawny as Neymar or di Maria.

I can see teams like Stoke trying to exploit his smaller build, but they do that to everyone, so he and his teammates will be prepared for that.

Huge fan of this kid. I can't help but smile watching him.

Why so little discussion about Traore? If he stays healthy and gets the playing time, I think this will be a major breakthrough year for him. I'm speaking from the biased perspective of a major fan of his, but I really think he has something special.

We don't want to jinx it, he's way too talented and on top of that seems like a genuinely nice bloke. Plus this jinx would also mean a lifelong ban from TSE...

He looks very good. Hope he is among strikers.

Playing alongside another striker is helping him, he's not ready to lead the line alone. While coming in from the left could work for him it also restricts him, and we have better players more suited to that position. I hope we don't waste 60+ millions on Lukaku or someone similar. Buying the real Ronaldo in his prime would be one thing, but overprice young talents doesn't make sense to me when we have freely available young talents already at the club.

Why do you think he's not ready to lead the line? He's stepped up to every challenge he's been given. He scores when he wants.

It takes a certain striker to be able to play alone up front with his back to the goal. It's not only about technical ability, you need good positioning, physical presence and tactical knowledge. I just don't feel he's there yet. Even the legend that was Drogba needed a season to get used to this role in the PL and he was physically much more suited to it than Traoré.

And we don't even have a replacement for him. If we play with 2 strikers in some games we need bodies.

Maybe that's the reason behind the Lukaku links.

If true he's pretty much done with us I'd say, to have a full season last year and then be put out on loan is quite telling

Won't see him play for us again, pretty certain about that. A loan to Ajax makes no sense, should be loaning him to premier league team.

I'm guessing something must be lined up - or RLC has something in his locker none of us have seen

I have the same feeling about this as when we sold Strurridge - big mistake - Huge mistake

Pretty devastated about this one. He should be our 3rd striker this season, and if not he shoild be starting in one of the top leagues. How many players leave holland the finished article? Next to none. The league isnt good enough to develop players fully. Get Traore in the bundesliga, la liga or the prem. Nowhere else will do. He's already above the dutch league standard

We haven't sold traore. It just irritates me he is obviously one of our most talented youngsters, yet he's sent on loan. We instead wanna spend a fortune to bring back lukaku when we also just bought michy for 30 odd million. Not sure where the logic is. Meanwhile we're no closer to getting a defender. Is our plan to just focus solely on attack and hope we outscore teams?

Ill quite happily make a heafty bet that in 3 years he is no longer a chelsea pl,ayer and wont get more then 10 competitive games for us (i think i'm being optimistic)

First Kenedy and now Traore ... Another nail in the coffin for our talented youngsters ...

Yet the likes of Cuadrado (a 100% total Prem flop, the last time I saw him play) stays ...

Hmmm ...

Plus, how many more chances are the likes of Ivan, Oscar, Matic, Remi, Mikel, etc. going to be given ...

What a waste that is.

One of the most gifted young players I've seen play for us in recent years and we look to just shift him out yet again.

No doubt when he get's game time and fulfils his huge potential City or United will pay big bucks for him.

The culture of demanding instant and constant success at Chelsea along with the revolving door on managers means that youth players will always be the first to suffer.

A manager isn't going to risk or put faith in playing youngsters when the demands on them are so high.

It's been that way for almost 15 years now, not sure why some expect it to change.

I held out some hope based on Conte at Juventus who gave a young, Raw Pogba a chance in his side.

It's not like Traore had a bad pre season, he came up with goals whenever he played.

Costa is first choice, we've dropped £32m on Batshuayi, looks like we're pushing for another signing up front and/or Remy is staying.

Just unfortunate for Traore that's he's viewed as 3rd/4th choice. He's too talented to be that far on the fringes of first team football so for the sake of his own career it makes sense for him to leave.
