55 million euros for a striker i've never heard of?

 

I think its safe to file this one under bollocks.

Probably lol but might be one to look out for in the future

 

Possibly, we'll most likely be in the market for a striker or two next summer once Falcao leaves and Remy has grown sick of being stuck behind Torres 2.0 for a year and also wants out.



We can get Lewandowski with 55m.....

 

About the player, he's very good. I began to follow him last year, when he played against Arsenal. He's young and talented, we have to scout him more.

Haven't seen much of him either but I know he's supposed to be very highly rated and only 19. Tottenham were reportedly after him earlier this summer before he signed a new contract with Monaco and at the time it was considered something of a coup for Tottenham were they to get him.

 

Looked very good vs Valencia last night. Fast, skilful, strong. can play striker or either wing.

Touted as the next henry, only ever heard of him on fifa, presumably the €55m is including the wages we were offering? So more like £20m fee, plus a 5 year deal on bout 50/60k week.

Don't know enough about him to have a solid opinion, but looks very quick, good finisher but very unproven for a team like ourselves.

Is he any better than solanke or bamford?

Martial isn't exclusively a striker. In fact whenever I've seen him play for Monaco (admittedly more or less only in Europe) he played as a left winger, with Berbatov up front. He's quite an impressive dribbler and is ridiculously fast, he tore chunks out of Mertesacker against Arsenal last season. Still quite raw but his end product isn't bad for a player who is still in his teens. I wouldn't pay anything close to €55m for him, but the veracity of this story is questionable at best.



I got a notification on my phone that read "Chelsea Launch €55m Bid for ..."

I got very excited as I clicked the notification, expecting to see Bale, Reus, Varane or Pogba.

Never heard of Martial, but if we're apparently offering 55€ million then he must be good.
