Not a bad depth option to have up our sleeve. His positioning and decision making were awful during his season here but with some time with Conte he could play a role. Certainly a better option than Kenedy.

This is an opportunity for him, he has to realise that and get stuck in. The exact same thing happened to Gareth Bale at the spuds, old twitchy wanted to sell/loan him out so he could bring in a left back, but he couldnt bring a player in. Bale took that chance, though I`m not saying Baba is as good obviously.

Wasn't included in the 25 squad players.

Just like van Ginkel last year. Pretty harsh considering Remy was included, and a clear signal he's not even remotely in plans.

MVG back at PSV - it was last year he was left out while similarly recovering. But agree strange he was loaned straight out, at least Pasalic had rumored work visa issues. Once upon a time I remember thinking MVG might have a chance with us  

Conte seemed to go out of his way to include Zouma and ensure he felt part of team - doesn't seem that way with a few others. Maybe it's that Baba isn't due back for another month or two, but still pretty depressing for a 14-21 mn pound acquisition.

Cause he's sh*t. 

Baba V PSG was the closest i've seen to the second coming of A.Cole. Just a shame he couldn't do it consistently. Still think he could be trained into a great wing back. 

I'll be honest, with his handful of appearances, then loan deals and then injury, I can't actually remember a single thing about him.

He reasonable quick has a decent cross and wasn't sure what post code he was in defensively is all I remember

All I remembered was his decent crosses which no one could get to because back then we didn't have anyone upfront that could consistently score headers bar Cahill and JT and him being caught a bit too far upfield during a counter.

To be honest, Baba debuted in a difficult season. You're not telling me that Fabregas and Hazard's perfomance in that season reflected their ability.
I'm so glad we gave Pedro another chance, shame the same hasn't happened for Baba.

Deffo think he has the qualities, he was tearing up the german league at 20, he is young and has teh physical attributes, he needs a chance, I'm pretty sure we can swap him out for Remy since remy has gone, there is some kind of deal with altering registrations of players it's not final.

Perfectly true

 

Doesn't look that bad. Good crosser, reasonably quick. Looks like he was sometimes too far forward and had to come running back, but in a 5 man defence with wingbacks, that would be less of a problem.

I certainly think he is at least a capable backup, we needed depth he is a functional player, can let Alonso rest later in the season in less tricky games, that it's self is a plus for the team, ok we didn't get Sandro quality but we got depth and that's what we needed, we walked the leauge and I think we have a better squad now, I'm feeling decent levels of optimism for the season.

Pedro had games when he was really good even if he was poor overall, Baba looked out of his depth (even for our standards set that season) in every game bar Paris and even then the winner came from his side of the pitch.

In truth i am not convinced by him in the slightest but at the same time i'm hoping he will be the back up when he returns as he is a significantly lesser evil compared to Kenedy.

When he is included in the squad, which is not the case now. 

He was pretty impressive vs PSG in this 1/4 final leg wherein everybody expected him to fail against Di Maria. But that wasnt the case. I believe the speed is his main problem - can't imagine second Marcos Alonso in the team. This position requires some after all and from what I remember, he wasn't fast enough in his best shape, can't imagine now. He is a squad player caliber. Just like Alonso.

From memory speed was his most impressive attribute, it was his positioning that needed a lot of work
